The only yesterday I picked up another couple of bikes... one that will donate it's forks and handle bars and handlebar stem to the project... no idea what make of bike it is... so 1930-50's British thing. The other bike at the bottom is a nice original (apart from paint on the rims, rusty...

Then added some metal to the seat stays to fit with hollow bits tuned up on the lathe.... after that seam welded them in with the mig.

Then with both frame being the same, I used bits of one to modify the other.... here I made a simple jig and added two inches to the chainstays...

So I set to stripping them down to bare frames and considering the rust they came apart very easyly. Good quality steel. Then I poked some 28 inch wheesl on the bike and did my first mock up to see what I was dealing with...

And here are the three bikes that as my inspiration for this build.... looooong low and lean monsters... with wheelbase and style to spare!

So I can't help myself..... got enough projects AS IT IS and I go and buy two cheap old BSA bike frame and now (of course) I have got carried away.... Here is what I started with... both 1950's

Thinking now to keep a really clean look, to go for the Shimano Nexus 8 speed with the coaster brake.... one less hand lever and one less cable to hide. I can still run the belt drive on that. Maybe a larger disc on the front for the look... friend suggested doing a double disc front end...

They make them to order also. I got a quote for one for another bike which was about $92USD made and delivered to New Zealand. Not a bad price I thought for a one off item.... I have not had one made by them yet.

Wanted. large skip tooth sprocket 30 to 35 teeth for project, centre does not matter as I am interested in the outer ring to attach (weld) to a CCM centre. 32 would be ideal. Anything considered. Maybe even bigger.... Anything out there?? Picture is a random 32 sprocket I found on the net...

I am seriously thinking of doing a spocked chain wheel with the belt drive sprocket on my latest custom project... :)

Oval chain wheel spocked would be a hoot.. fun to spoke and true!! I have not seen THAT done..... for a number of legitimate reasons I have to say.... but it would be a very cool project....

Just discovering electronic shifting rear hubs! Learning all the time... One less cable to hide, just wires which are easy to hide inside the frame and a couple of hidden (modified) buttons rather than a lever... SHIMANO ALFINE DI2 8 speed and 11. 8 would be enough I would think.... My bars...
