    First ever bike build

Ruff Cycles sells these in europe. I have a few if you can't find one Sepjs. Maybe, because the chainline needs to be fairly straight, you'll need more adaptations. Not super visible here, but the chain needs to engage with the sprockets teeth in a fairly straight manner

    Coasterbrake hub builds

I ordered four prototypes! Thinking about assembling the fins; It might be a bit of a pain in the hiney but worth it eventually. Here some neat pictures: Edit: This is nuts:

    Klunker build. (Testride! pg2)

Thanks Cap! I found a website with a huge discount on Schwalbe Magic Mary tires. So I bought those. The vintage Panaracer were too expensive for me right now unfortunately. And I made a clamp from an broken stem with drillium holes: I like it!

What have you been riding lately?

Snow today! Beautiful sky! Back home. The kids made a snow puppet.

    First ever bike build

Awesome start! A few tips (maybe you are aware already): One piece crank pedals are 1/2" most of the time. Normally pedals have 9/16" threads. And I hope your chain has enough clearance, so it does not make the whitewall tires dirty. Depends on your own ride comfort and preferences: But the...

The Violet One, and the Black One

Love the black and red! The violet frame is such a beaut in itself. Looks good with grey/polished aluminum parts I reckon.

    Coasterbrake hub builds

Update: (sorry, I do not give anyone time to react ) Flange concept2 is the one I am going for in the prototype. I ordered base materials and asked for pricing regarding the lasercut parts. In total four prototypes for four CBE-110 hubs. I know a few people that might be interested. Plus...

    Klunker build. (Testride! pg2)

Hmm clearance: 51mm wide tires. This is a 2.125" tire. I could cram a 2.4 in there. Or a 2.25. Does anyone has experience with these common tires on trails?

    Coasterbrake hub builds

Almost ready to order some materials! Updates: I made the flanges a bit smaller and made a few 'aesthetical' concepts. Personally I like concept 2. Central fins are larger now, more cooling. I am aware this is not a full-on efficient, streamlined cooling design, but more a way of having fun...

    Coasterbrake hub builds

Day 2, changed a few things. I will build a prototype hub first, so I'm keeping it practical, affordable and fun. What changed? Central aluminum (blue model) heatsink changed to a stock available material. Unfortunately less heatsinky, but still aluminum which I can anodize. Cut material from...

    Klunker build. (Testride! pg2)

Just a few tire options (one can dream right?) Panaracer Fire XC: Saddly only in 2.1" width. Schwalbe Nobby Nic: 26x2.4 bronze wall. Panaracer Swoop: 26x2.4 Reading in reviews, they are all pretty good mountainbike tires. It is probably better than my previous Klunker: 24" Felt Berm...

    Klunker build. (Testride! pg2)

I am not sure if I will leave the tires on. Coming weekend I will pick up a trail and 'feel' the bike and these stock tires. And what does not help in my choice: I saw a brand called 'Panaracer' which has pretty beautiful retro / vintage mountainbike tires. Panaracer colours picture link Blue...

    Coasterbrake hub builds

I'm all over the place with my projects again :p I felt inspired and started concept modelling a heatsink, flanges and arm for a Shimano CB-E110 hub. Almost all aluminum. Not finished yet and needs a little reflection in regards to machineability versus clamping, but happy how these high...

What have you been riding lately?

Aside from a scare, my wife is ok, thank you Dave. Now that you mention it I am surprised as wel. I was thinking about the wires ropes that are 'hooked' between the fenders and a bracket near the rear shaft. Like this Victor 1894 (link) ladies bike

    Klunker build. (Testride! pg2)

Testride, today, not an actual trail, but on tarmac. Very happy with the result so far! Stem survived my full weight and wheelies.

    Klunker build. (Testride! pg2)

Thank you, I agree. Depending on the ride, I will donate this or my other Klunker to the mountainbike museum the 15th of December. Thank you  Thank you too Matti, always happy to do tryouts and inspire. I assembled a few more things and adjusted the stem. The sprockets will be: 39...

What have you been riding lately?

Me and my wife were riding with our kids in the tub of the cargo bike today. I rode on my BO18 bike. My wife was wearing a very long linen skirt which got tangled up in the disc brake caliper! She had to remove her skirt (luckily she was also wearing warm leggings) and we walked home...

    Klunker build. (Testride! pg2)

Hi guys, what do you think of the cockpit so far? I'm pretty happy with the looks. Position and if I'll use the setback seatpost is something I will have to check before riding trails and trips. Pretty tough! The bush can't fall out because it has a collar between the 'Asco power disc'...
