    Klunker build. (Testride! pg2)

Yes indeed! I can't find a second hand one so I'll try and braze one. Ingredients: I took optimus his mask off! Pretty cool idea right? Now I gotta scramble ideas and parts. In what position am I brazing this? 90 degree angle? (Forward) or with a little upslope like the picture? I like...

"Building a welding JIG first" - design process and thoughts

Little update: I had a profile left, since I plan to change the fork jig to something more versatile. I can clamp down anything on this. Now I need to finish the brackets!

"Building a welding JIG first" - design process and thoughts

Thats also a great tip Captain. I would love to see your fixture! My current concept is made out of 12mm steel. The four clamping parts need a little machining/cleaning the edges after lasercutting. There are more stiff/rigid options out there, but this balances strength/stiffness...

"Building a welding JIG first" - design process and thoughts

Practicing some soldering joints with brass worked out pretty good. I'm learning it also by looking at other bikes. Bikes from builders and factories. Also old brazed bicycles are interesting to watch in regards to technique and style. I can't remember or find when 'fillet brazing' became a...

    Klunker build. (Testride! pg2)

Very nice! Duck Norris is welcome to visit  Very nice! I'm still considering it. Bars came in! I searched for some second hand bars, but couldnt find any in my area. So I have found a moped shop that sells bars for a pretty neat price! The bottom one is one I used before, it is...

    Klunker build. (Testride! pg2)

I was wondering; With this orange colour I intend to keep, are anodized parts like a stem, a seatpost or a chainring a nice addition? I have the option to buy some NOS red or blue anodized parts. I'm thinking blue would fit the orange paint:

    Klunker build. (Testride! pg2)

Wow, cool decal! Where did it came from? I cycle hard! But I'm not really a destroyer, my sticker would say: Build, Klunk, Mechanical Sympathy  Thanks for your input, very cool! Better bars definitely! Thanks Pondo! A few pictures during the day: The plate screws were stuck, so had...

    Klunker build. (Testride! pg2)

Hey y'all builders, I found a cheap cruiser bike near me. I saw the pictures on a online marketplace and the bike was absolutely hideous... But with potential! Tires and parts seemed like new, but pictures were bad. The owner got an offer from someone else of 15 bucks but was not letting it go...

    What are you listening to?

That sound like a great memory! My parents always played Rush when I was a kid, playing with Lego's in the house. Certainly gave me memories and lots of imagination! Later on Ayreon "Into the Electric Castle" was played a lot. Its not the same or even comparable to Rush, but certainly is...

@Da Gas Man I listened to the song, but did not see the poster in the video. Found it! Awesome!

    Shaft Drive Klunker bike

Is this XL geometry interesting perhaps? I will compare it to my current klunker, which I like but has a little bit short top tube. The chainstay is obviously fixed on this shaft drive (445mm).

    Shaft Drive Klunker bike

I thought that too! Well, the gearing has a certain angle to allow the shaft to move 'outwards' to the dropout width. I don't know, what will happen when I change that angle (I need new housing for the bearings and, such). Also the BB width will change. Which, all in all, might pose quite a...
