    WINTER BUILD OFF "STEEL CITY"

Been a while but my son and I installed a 1500 watt full custom audio system into his truck for x-mas! I did manage to start putting the frame back to gether though. Here is a pick of the sleeve I fabbed up to re-attach the bottom tube. This will be the same for top and middle tubes also...

    Mig or tig or ?

This is what I'm after...a cleaner, strong weld with less clean up. Never used gas just flux core. From What I gather mig is cleaner, no slag. What kind of gas? Nito

    Mig or tig or ?

Thx for the insite everyone. I've never tig welded. Scratch built a couple frames already and plan on more regularly. Pretty good at welding 14 & 16 gauge tubing with flux core. Pretty good at brazing also. Maybe switch my weld pak to gas for mig? Or braze instead? I'm very confident I can...

    Mig or tig or ?

Whats everyone using to stitch up there bikes? I use my flux core wire feed because thats what i have and it works OK. I've thaught about picking up the Harbor Freight 110v tig inverter and a tig torch for $220. What I'm wondering is, is it worth it? Stay with fluxed wire feed, add gas for mig...

    WINTER BUILD OFF "STEEL CITY"

My thoughts exactly. I definitely won't be jammin on the brakes to lay a down any sweet skids! That would probably rip the hub right out of the wheel!!! Thats probably why they come with canti brakes. I think the all in one trans. brake set up looks the best, but it's gonna put a ton of...

    WINTER BUILD OFF "STEEL CITY"

Unfortunately with the holidays and my helicopter side job there hasn't been much progress. I did do some design work on the 3spd jack shaft, scrounged a disc caliper from a mtn bike I found by my dumpster and mocked up the jack shaft placement. Keep in mind, the crank will be relocated...
