    Fun with curves

That's a great looking shape you've come up with, did you use a tube roller for the upper chain stays? I'm looking forward to seeing how it all goes together with no head tube, just bearings top and bottom? I just bought a JD2 model 32 bender, I'm wondering what radius die you used for the chain...

Thanks Deorman, I've never really been away, just lurking while working on other projects.

As I haven't gotten my system to work yet, I guess I have no recommendations for you. I did notice in the ebay link you sent that they wanted $25 shipping for a $23 cylinder but that may be coz I live in Canada. You could try a pm to someone that has successfully finished such a build. There is...

    Air Ride Bike

I wouldn't buy this air cylinder as it is double action (it can push and pull). I thought "no problem, I'll only use one air port" which does not work. This was the mistake I made when selecting my air cyl. You need a single action cylinder. I found if I blocked the unused port the air seemed to...

    Air Ride Bike

Just got back from our first weekend away with the teardrop, I have to say it's a big improvement over a tent! Thank you for all the positive responses to the trailer, I promise to get back to work on bikes real soon. I figure now that the wife is happy with the trailer, I should be able to...

I'm mainly waiting for the weather to warm up a bit before I can begin using epoxy again

    Air Ride Bike

I've had a lot of problems with air leaks in the system, likely due to using quick connectors. The bike has been hanging on the wall for the last year or so, I need to redo the lines with compression fittings, but have been considering going to a 12v linear actuator which would be much more...

    Space Freighter Trike

How did you mount your disc brakes on the rear using a stock axle? :?

    Big Mouth

Wow! Your dog is really well trained, I love the way he waited for you to take the pic with the frame balanced on his head  Seriously, looks like a totally original frame design, +1 from me too.

    Air Ride Bike

Thanks, I have yet to decide what to do about the air system. I'm inclined to change to a 12volt linear actuator as this bike is so cool to ride I'm feeling the air system even if working properly may make it more of a 'trailer queen'. If the suspension goes flat you have to carry it home which...

    Air Ride Bike

Haven't been looking for the leaks yet, working on lots of other things but will come back to it, perhaps in the fall. Need to do some pre-winter repairs on my workshop so I can keep working through the winter season. Recently bought a compressor/airbrush setup and want to learn more about it...

    Air Ride Bike

Beware of this style of switch, it is only designed to allow the bike to hop. It is not a three way (fill/neutral/dump) switch, I know this coz I bought one after being told by NYBC that I would be able to control the ride height of my bike, which I couldn't. This switch allows either full...

    Air Ride Bike

Haven't given up completely on the build, just been working on other things and will eventually come back to it. The bike currently has a solid strut in place of the air cylinder and I occasionally take it out for a ride. I've been thinking that for practical purposes a 12volt linear actuator...

    Disc brakes, old forks

The ChoppersUS adapter works great on the front with a bit of work. Once you file off the tab it'll be fine, but will rotate if you apply the brake while the bike is rolling backward, I fixed it this way...

    Air Ride Bike

Yes, threaded with push-to-lock connectors. I have tried teflon tape and thread sealer, may try changing to compression fittings and solid lines. Also had the reg adjusted up too high the first time and the psi over-rode the switch. I wanted to have quick release fittings so I could easily...

    Air Ride Bike

Thanks guys - It's nice to show off your work after so many hours invested. I've learned a lot from seeing other people's projects which is one of the reasons we all like to see pics so much. This is only my second seat, so my carving skills are not what they could be but I'm quite happy with...

    Air Ride Bike

Not a lot progress apart from the seat is now finished. I'm hoping to pull it apart and get some paint on it this spring once things warm up a bit more. I've had a couple of attempts to get the air system leak free and reliable but it's not there yet, I'm actually thinking switching to a 12v...

    XL comfort cruiser (renamed)

Re: New Daily cruise Project Looking good! This one looks much less cramped for you to ride than the previous build. With all that front suspension travel I fear the bottom of the frame will contact the ground on the first real bump. :|

    Air Ride Bike

Thanks rustrat! Due to the extra length added by the springer, I was trying to keep everything compact as possible. By design, the rear suspension moves forward when dropped, so without a deraileur you can't it peddle anyway.

    Air Ride Bike

Here's the gel I got from one of the local rehab equipment suppliers. This will be much more comfortable than the 1" high density foam (on the left) I've used in the past. The gel material can be cut to any shape and then tightly wrapped with cling film to stop it from 'migrating'. I shaped...
