Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories
test email sent via CL messaging.
I think the price is fair for the two bikes. In the S.F. Bay area, the chrome one would fetch 100$ by itself, if you are patient enough.
I would remove the 'Chrome has some peppering of rust that can be...
Doesn't look like they ship the bike lots; a few of the single bikes they offer shipping on, but the shipping cost would negate any deal you may have gotten on the bike. Additionally, I highly doubt that they are professional bike shippers who are going to take the utmost care in packaging your...

Any info on the 4th bike? Would it be in the BMX bike realm? The frame looks stretched. is it a one off deal?
I stumbled across this site when researching another bike. some of the '4 used bikes' lots have some potential, if the price is right.

Anyone ever use this site?
Anyone have good experience with police auctions in general?
First, part is parts, so don't feel bashful about any bike under $10. :)
I think the pink wheels on the 70's frame would look bleh. I would put them on the green/pink pike, and take all the dark blue/purple parts off it, and put them on your 70's frame. If you have access to a...
This are is south of highway 280. North of highway 280 is redevelopment central for San Jose, so there are oodles of large shiny (and mostly empty) buildings that were subsidized by taxpayers. :(
Really bummed today. After a 100 year run in downtown San Jose (near South First and Hwy 280), Faber's Cyclery has lost the fight, and will be packing up and leaving town. Apparently a "better" use for the land is either a 7-11 or a parking lot. :(
The main bike collection has been sold...
got this from CL today. The frame actually looks cool- has 'flow'. It is a Pacific Cycles 'schwinn' bike with OCC stickering everywhere.
I don't recall seeing these in stores; I thought OCC badging was only put on the Stingray family of bikes.
This frame is fairly desirable (note 'desirable' does not necessarily mean 'valuable'), since it has the rear handlebar separate from the front seat tube. If you are looking for a frame to chop up, trade down from this one and get one that no one cares about.

Found this listing on the 'antiques' section:

Wait.. they made...
After a few hours with the wire wheel, the frame clean up, and the original reddish paint started shining through. Polished most of the chrome and regreased everything. Added new tires, new grips, and a correct Schwinn seat. Now have this:
My family and I were doing our Saturday morning yard sale route when I saw something catch my eye that made me say "HOLY COW!" and flip the quickest sharpest U turn ever. It was a scrapper that had a parked trailer load of bicycles, with some washers and dryers bookending the pile. I get out...
