    Craigslist nightmares and dreams...

Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories I need to remind myself NEVER to put 'free' in the title of an ad, even if 'free' is part of the bike model. I posted my LA Free electric bike on Craig's list. Sho 'nuff, I get a "Hello, I am interested in your electric bike that you are...

Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/bik/3641608620.html This takes the typical substance induced definition of 'excellent condition' to a new level. I'll wager that the pics look crystal clear to the poster.

my Electrifying fresh find - Electric bikes!

snagged these off Craig's list. missing chargers, batteries probably shot. odd wiring hacks done to e-bike. The LAFree has an older nexus 4 speed rear hub. I gave three Jacksons for the pair, so hard to go wrong on them. Going to test motors, and see how feasible it is to get new battery packs...

    They're italian. They're 14". They're now mine.

The seller called me back and said he found the frame pump. I picked it up, and we were yapping about bikes for an hour. I mentioned the 14" tube missing, and a light bulb went off in his head, and he found it hanging in his shed! I had to patch it so many times it looks like high school...

    picking from scrappers- etiquette?

This tactic depends on the scrapyard and/or state you are in.. due to laws and liability issues. In California, forget about going on the lot and cherry picking stuff. But walking down the traffic jam queuing to get into the scrap yard and cherry picking is doable, so says some acquaintances...

    picking from scrappers- etiquette?

A number of scrappers have popped up in our neighborhood; you can tell they are the ones with well worn truck and trailers, and a new 'gate' in their fence where they pile their loot in the back yard. They have been parking their truck/trailers on main drag away from their house due to parking...

    traded for Women's Columbia Firebolt

I took this: and this (kept the yellow stem&bars, and swapped out the araya wheels): and traded for this: Aired up the tires, and the Bendix hub works like a champ. I'm going to open the tank to see how bad it is, but all the parts seem to be there.

    Six in a Barn

Hopefully the roadbikes will clean up real nice to make some quick flipping cash. :) If you find a chain guard to complete the 24" Sears, that should earn you a Ben Franklin. (it would in the S.F. Bay Area).

vintage stumpjumper - worth fussing with?

Well, I took the easy way out, and traded it to a mountain bike nut I met from a separate Craig's list deal. I took this and this one: (kept araya wheels and yellow neck/bars for myself), and traded for this: I'm fairly happy now. :)

    Craigslist nightmares and dreams...

Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories Today I got a response to one of my listings along the lines of "I'm interested in your bike. Call me ASAP at xxx-xxxx". Since I get my email on my smartphone, I called him literally 4 minutes after he sent the email. His response? "I'm...

What do purple Bratz lowrider bikes fetch in your 'hood?

Just curious how they market nationwide. A decent popped up on the 'list locally, and it doesn't have the typical rim rust.

    They're italian. They're 14". They're now mine.

14" is not a standard size in the US anymore. US is on the 12-16-20-24-26 system. I think they still use the 14" on scooters. You can still get 14" shraeder valve tubes.

    They're italian. They're 14". They're now mine.

Wasn't looking for them. Didn't really know they existed. but they popped up on CL ten minutes from my house. Famolare shoe company had these made for their shop owners to display in their stores as a sales incentive back in 1981. The high wheeler is a working replica of their logo...
