Thanks Guys! I'm having fun with this. The wheel size is 16inch, Jonnie. Kind of makes me feel like this guy. He even has the apes! haha

On A Wimh (Yeah I know its not spelled right)

A Monday off of work allowed for a bit of fun. I got the channels ground into the front forks to allow for the wider tires, got some paint on the homemade valve caps and decided on the front chaingear... The tiny original one is a 29t - I wanted to use a 52t from a 10 speed setup, but it hit...

Thanks for the encouragement! Got some work done on On A Wimh... Most was pretty simple but I had a bit of trouble getting the headset apart thanks to a couple decades of midwest rust. I'm in sunny California, but a sticker on the seat tube read "Skokie, Ill." as this little pixie's hometown...

Thanks Wino. Stock pedals/crank. The 65t sprocket came from a Schwinn dx900 exercise bike.

    Before & After Pics

Thanks Snydur and Oneuglybike. I forgot to mention, but it should be said that the black version of the Suburban was built by my good friend Dan. He got it from me as you see it in the middle picture. The bike is now known as Kevin Bacon (hence the grip tape & bacon strip in spokes :D )

I've had this little Pixie in my garage, getting little attention, and since I have not taken part in any previous Build Off I thought I would give it a go this time around. The Bike (as acquired): 1977 Schwinn Pixie II '77 Pixie II as I got it. by curlywolf, on Flickr

    *BELLOWING YELLOW* IS DONE!!!!!

Re: Let's Do This! * Now Known As Speedy *Front Fender 1.0 I like how its coming along. I used similar bars on a bike I did last summer. Check it out... They ride nicely too. http://www.flickr.com/photos/34767893@N08/5132708590/

    The Hangover Cure

Hey Jonnie. I like the way the bike is coming along. I like the inverted bars too. a suggestion for them would be to use a longer gooseneck (actually like the one you originally cut up for a seatpost) to put them forward a couple inches?

b.o.b.o.b. (putting unwanted exercycles parts to good use)

Well, yeah. The more teeth you have on the front gear in relation to the rear would potentially increase the speed... however, this in turn requires more torque; makes it more difficult to get the bike into, and maintain motion.

Icyuod2, this was a great build to watch and the outcome is awesome! I had been wanting to put a large sprocket on my Murray since I saw some photos of old land speed bikes. After seeing this thread I have kept my eye open for an exercise bike and finally found one (at the right price!). Thanks...
