COASTER BRAKE HUB EXPERTS, PLEASE HELP!

You are holding the wheel and tire up off the floor when you are turning the cog? When turning it forward, it should engage and turn the wheel.

    Score!!! Sears muscle bike

Very nice, I have one in black. I agree it is probably 66-67, I think they went to double top tubes after that. Good that you have the shifter, they are almost impossible to find.

    *Revised* Post-war ballooner

Re: pre war ballooner Very nice bike, but I also believe it is post war. It has the same tank design with the bars as my 1953 Hawthorne.

    schwinn racer and tandem

Nice bikes, but I don't think the Schwinn Racer was introduced until 1955 or 56.

    relocation

The are lots of jobs here in the middle of the "boom", but few places to live. Lots of work in construction and retail besides the oil field work. If you have an rv or camper, you might find a place to park it until some of the apartments get finished. Do your homework before heading out here...

    *Another 12 bike finds!*

Quite the haul. Doesn't look like there are going to be any bikes left to find by the time I get moved to MN.

Help with Excell mark iv coster brake

Is that the one with the square end on the axle? If so, I think you have to put a wrench on that end and unscrew the axle from the hub.

    How old are you!!

I'm 62, same as Road Master and Bama Bill. My Dad was a bike mechanic and I always had an interest in bikes, and then a friend of mine turned me on to collecting classic bikes about 20 years ago. I'm hoping to retire soon and then hopefully my bike hobby will provide some additional income. A...

'50 Sturmey Archer Rear Wheel Alignment HELP!

Do you have the little alignment washers in place? I think they were used on all Sturmey hubs. They fit in the axle slot and have serrations to grip the dropouts.

    Nice old Monark

I have the correct seat. It is in good shape with the exception that some of the seat cover needs to be glued back to the pan. I can post a photo if you are interested.

    2 Hiawathas and a Tornado

Great finds. Interesting that I once had an identical Hiawatha Meteor and I bought it in Sidney, Montana. I guess it isn't that surprising since Gambles Hardware stores were located all over the west/midwest.

    laptop problems

I think if you have an old monitor you should be able to plug it into your laptop and then determine if it is the video card or something else.

    S7 rims

If you are looking for new tires, I think Kenda is the only company making them. Try Google Kenda S7 and see what pops up. Maybe Niagara cycle carries them, they have an on-line catalog. Good luck.

    S7 rims

1 3/4 not 1.75. They normally say "For Schwinn S7" on the sidewall.
