    "HOME BUILT" - COOL VIDEO

Not my picture, but It WAS my car. New owner changed the wheels/tires and front spoiler. I approve! The Bluebird was a Japan only car. The roof line was more "fast back". Right side drive. Japan Gov. rules are not friendly to old cars. They require them to be crushed at a certain age...

    "HOME BUILT" - COOL VIDEO

I miss my '72 2 dr. Had a 2.2 liter in it with lots of parts from a 260Z car. Amazing little sedans. The IS rear, stiff uni-body, and Z car parts bin made them great race cars. Paul Newman started his racing in one.

    Please Help... MS150 Charity Ride

808, I don't think that you had the slightest notion that I questioned your participation, and I don't, I think you are to be highly commended for doing it. I was just relating our one experience with a what I call a "pledge ride". They seem to go overboard on the rah rah bring the money in...

    Please Help... MS150 Charity Ride

We usually do 4 charity rides (all organized rides are "charity rides") a year and really enjoy doing them. The only ones we will do now are where you sign up, contribute, get a t-shirt, water bottle, and ride. We signed up for one and didn't read the fine print. Without bringing in $300...

Cruiser bars with a 7/8 clamp?

You pretty much have to drill the stem out to 1 inch which is very difficult to do without machine shop tools.

Not a "How To" but an exercise in problem solving

So this 20 in. Hummer H2O is left on my doorstep. I call around and cannot determine where it came from. I checked for "stolen bike" listings on Craigs, and actually called my local PD to see if they had a report. No dice, so after leaving it visible on my front walk a couple days, decided it...

    Trauma-Free Tire Changing

Had a heck of a time getting my fat tires back on the rim. Hit the edges with wd-40 and problem solved. The auto tire shops always swab on some soap and water, that may give you another idea.

    easy way to paint rims

take an old frame and clamp it in your work-mate -- upside down. put the wheel in the drop outs and you can spin it to paint the rim evenly. Mask everything as us564 says. i used plastic grocery bags and masking tape.

    Seat upgrade question

Any of the major LBS will have a good selection of bike shorts. I have to agree with a lot of what us564 is saying. shorts and seats are a very personal choice. everyone fits them differently. I don't care for the wide "comfortable" seats. They are OK for a mile or 2, but after than they...

    Seat upgrade question

Buy a pair of bike shorts with the pad. -or- buy the mountain bike version that look like surfer baggies. Use a bit of butt cream just like the road bikers use. if you got the road bike style, wear a pair of pants or shorts over them and keep your mouth shut. Don't mess with that great...

Don't get Pissed ..I need to cut a dyno frame . Help !!

IMHO every bike frame was engineered for weight and strength. Comparing the design of your frame to another brand and style may not be a wise decision. It's your bike and you should do what-ever you want with it.

    multiple bicycles

Said I'd never have any inside the house. Just counted 6 in 2 rooms and have 3 in the garage, and 4 in an outside shed. These are my keepers. I have a pile of junk bikes for those little parts that you can't buy, a ton of wheels, tires, and parts, and a few frames that may or may not see...

Buying Parts From China on Ebay

almost everything is manufactured offshore now anyway. they moved all the machines out of the US and closed production . Just as with the steel industry, they probably ditched all the old US machines and production technology and installed newer, better, faster machines. Fact of life. One...

    Little bent. Fixable?

A different way of looking at it..... are the rear dropouts straight with the rest of the frame? Probably not, but if you could get the dropouts correct, I see no compelling reason to work on the seat stay. Call it patina, history, or whatever and go on. I don't see it as a real safety issue...
