    Taking Chain apart

For skip tooth chain, look for a chain breaker that the go-kart people use. Bigger and stronger, as is the skip chain. (I borrowed one from a buddy, it does make a difference).

Why does everyome hate 24 inch bikes and love 26 inch bikes?

As for your 24 in. tubes, guys here use them for their 24 in wheel sets with Thick Brick tires on their 26 in frame custom builds. I know I have. The smaller wheels and large tires look great and overall diameter is almost the same as a 26 wheel/tire.

    Homebrew Dropout Alignment Gauge

Is this adjustment really necessary. If the frame is flexible enough to bend like in the video, will the wheel itself not pull the drops into alignment when you tighten up the axle nuts? Having said that, I can see this being useful if the frame is really bent out of shape, but you may have...

TOOL FIXES! Bike specific or otherwise.

I've done that to a small, cheap Harbor Freight adjustable wrench too. Handy when you need an extra one of the same size as your real cone wrench. cones don't normally require a lot of wrench pressure, so this should survive well.

LTJ's fresh finds: Vintage looptail BMX!

I did a total rebuild on a 72 Datsun 510 - 2 dr. I had a 2.2 L in mine, but the LB20 is a very popular swap. I would not expect the Z 6 cyl to fit, but I've seen a lot of stranger things done to 510s. Lots of Z car parts fit the 510 which makes it so popular, and a relatively cheap project...

    Photo Theft?

Just for the record, I took the photo that became my avatar, BUT, the photo is of wall art from the sign on a now closed antique store in Ft Worth. I did some minor things to it in Photoshop. Did I steal another person's art work? Maybe, not really sure. Plenty of guilt to go around I...

    Photo Theft?

As soon as you create the photo it is automatically your copyrighted work, whether you attach the © symbol, or the word "copyright" to the image or not. Yes, it can be registered as copyrighted, but that is not free. Registering the copyright only helps the owner if legal remedy is sought. It...

    Photo Theft?

I think Facebook's Share option has everybody thinking that all photos/videos are fair game for anyone's use. Yes I realize that it tags the name of the person who originally posted the photo. But, did the poster own the photo?? Probably not always.

    Photo Theft?

Please understand that I didn't post to confront or argue, just to inform. For most of what has been said, I agree with you guys. Personally I have a real problem with anyone taking my photos and using them for profit without my permission, and without offering to pay for it. Not that I have...

    Photo Theft?

Honestherman if your car or bike (person, what-ever) is in public or at a public event, the photographer does have the right to take a picture, and the picture is owned by the photographer and can be used at his/her discretion. You, the owner of the car or bike have the right to ask the...

    Filipino Easyrider Bike Build

I love the use of wheel skewers as fasteners all over the bikes. Even holding the chain rings together on one of the bikes. Great idea IMHO.

    Glue bike grips

Not sure if this will work on your old stretched out grips, but WD40 works well for installing grips. Takes about a day to dry, but they will be firmly stuck on after that. Normal removal tricks work if you need them back off. I know,,, sounds wrong.. but give it a try sometime.

First Ride in 50+ years: 2023 Update

Hate to hear about losing Poppy. Also glad to get to read some more updates. Your mention of the Linotype hot lead newspaper process brings back a flood of memories. I got to work at our local newspaper when I got "promoted" in the circulation dept. up from my paper route. We had 4...
