    A Zep??

I'm not sure how many speeds it is. The rear gear is definitely a different one. I can't tell if this one is a "real" Zep or not. I can't tell if it had a tank previously. Everything else on it looks original, so I don't know why they'd take a tank off. Any other photos I've seen so far...

    A Zep??

Picked this up today. Thanks to Deorman in the Bike ID section, http://www.ratrodbikes.com/forum/index.php?threads/i-have-no-clue.92842/ I believe this is a late 30's Hawthorne, possibly a Zepplin. Haven't found any numbers on it yet. Old house paint is covering the whole thing.

    I have no clue....

Found a thread that has a '39 with the same chain guard owned by The_Black_Monark http://ratrodbikes.com/forum/index.php?threads/1937-zep-hawthorne-colson.84932/

    I have no clue....

I'd say your right on the frame. Definitely that style. The chain guard, if correct, is throwing me off for a possible year. But I need to look at photos on my computer and not this stupid smart phone.

    I have no clue....

....and I can't figure out what this bike is either.

    Linseed Oil edjumaction...

That was something I forgot to ask.... After a decal is applied, can LBO be applied over it? If so, will it coat the vinyl decal or will it just wipe right off?

    Linseed Oil edjumaction...

Have another question...... After I do the BLO to my satisfaction and after its had ample drying time, can a sticky back decal or emblem be applied and stay on? Or will the BLO not allow it?

    Darn Goodwill....

Sold mine at the show Saturday. A Huffy collector wanted to add it to his collection.

    Olds Cool

Haven't had any time this past week to work on "Olds Cool". Was hoping to take it, in incomplete form, to the show & swap yesterday, but that didn't work out. Going to try again for this weekend in Monticello with onewheelsqueal and his mini squeal.

AND.....already ran into a problem. When the bulbs are installed into the socket plugs, they're too tall for where they go in the housings. Time for plan B!!

A little taillight work today! The bulb socket plugs came in. They're a little smaller than I thought but they'll still work. Disassembled the lights. Cleaned the red lense and the inside of the housing so the light will reflect as bright as possible. Also drilled holes in the housings for...

Thanks! I'm a big fan of LED lighting. It's getting cheaper and better over time. A nice thing about lights like these is they can run off a watch or 9volt battery that can be hidden inside each light housing. Sure....that means I'll have to turn on/off 4 lights individually, but theres no...

Ordered some old school lookin' 8-Ball valve caps for "Olds Cool".

You are correct. I have to open up the slots a little to fit the axle. That was just a mock up to see how it was gonna look. Good eye! o_O

Build off jigs(let's get jiggy) tunes we build too...

If the voices allow the time and space, it's whatever is next on the playlist. I think the last song I listened to while working on Olds Cool was this: And you can thank me later when "Hey, hooo. Hey, hooo" is stuck in your head.....;)

Seiss lights I got a few years ago. I started working on them then, but they've been storage for the past three years. I had started cleaning one and found out they're brass: Harbor Freight LED spot/work lights: Disassembled and removed the outer flange seen here: Fit right in! Each...
