Bearings regreased, fork, stem and bars installed, wheels, tires and Dana in place. Still need to get the new shifter location done. Bars are apes but not sure if they'll stay yet. Grips are being cleaned. I'll post pics soon.
That is killer! I think if I had more time I could probably have done it. Weather here has not been cooperative for outdoor work. There's always next year!!
After doing a little more sanding and cleaning today, I decided that it wasn't going to get any better without removing too much of the original paint. Soooo.......natural rust it is!!
1st coat of boiled linseed oil is on. The lighting doesn't show the red as rich as it really is right now.
I looked at what I might have laying around, but only have newer Shimano stuff. Once I get this one apart I'll be able to hopefully salvage it and reuse it w/ some 57mm hoops....:113:
What's the actual technical term and/or name for the part, seen at the bottom of the pic, that's threaded onto the axle for the shifter assembly? I want to try to find a replacement but have no idea what its called. Shifter Thingy didn't help out much on Google...

It's hard to tell, but the outside is a light metallic green. Buut the inside is a seafoam...
Nothing to report for the past week or so. Been busy with the house. Air Conditioning doesn't work, water heater quit heating, and all the rain we've been getting flooded my basement. Not to mention the friggin' ants everywhere since they got flooded out of the ground! I'll get back at it...
