    Random Rodz

Grandpa is still around and even though its still his, he needs the encouragement to get out and go cruising. I usually cruise the nova around that my dad and I built up a few years ago, and he likes riding in that(grandpa is an old speed freak at heart) but he baby's that merc. And you got...

Thats awesome, I always love seeing other mercs. I see your sled and raise you an o.g. 51. Not the best pic, but this was after we just got done doing kingpins and bushings. 49,000 original miles. Grandpa bought it in 1971 for $925 and drove it home from Missouri to Michigan.

I think I might like this thread... :cool2: My buddy Joe's Truck. This would be my ideal hauler. Not hellbilly, but you reminded me of this local car to me HellRod. Now its got promod/zoomie pipes that shoot flames out of the lower front fenders. Not the best picture of it, but my...

WINTER BUILD OFF- My junk dont have no name yet

Lucky for me, I get both paint and oil if I need for a more than reasonable price (I manage a parts store) and that helps. This year is gonna be a busy year with a few projects planned. Lots of bikes, group rides, and swap meets. And if money permits, maybe a v8 Vega. :) Maybe I should get busy...

WINTER BUILD OFF- My junk dont have no name yet

The rims as well as the frame were supposed to be painted with gloss black rollbar paint (leftover from a hot rod project) but I don't have a source of heat for the garage yet. Ill probably get it rideable and submit it, but just like everything I own, it won't be done yet.

WINTER BUILD OFF- My junk dont have no name yet

I hate to say it, but for a number of factors it looks like I won't be finishing this build in time. With the weather the way it is, and the lack of time to work on it(a lot of procrastination) its looking like it just won't happen by march 1st. On the upside though, I did get the frame fixed...

    HELP, please ID this frame

Sir, step away from the bike... But seriously, I have ten different frames you could cut up. Even though I don't know what it is, I'd label it cool.

I don't understand the negative stigma that bike shops have w/ "customizers"

I guess I should start counting my blessings, cause nearly every LBS near me is friendly. Given, a lot of the atuff I get I find in a barn or the junkyard, and I work with that, but on the other thing I don't have or need new, I'll buy from them to support small businesses. Plus, for 2 of the 4...

Not bad for a rough Winter week.

I'll go check out the printer shop after work tomorrow to get an idea on pricing. Any other takers?

    bike hobby changing?

Well, when and if the bike hobby goes in the crapper, I'll still be here catching all the great deals and loving it. Then in another twenty years, I'll have a huge collection and I can be rich when I sell all, and start over again. BRING ON THE CHANGE

    95 Schwinn frame

I'm probably not much help in the derailer portion of this conversation, but Im 6'2 and long legged, and the last klunker I played with was a early 70s typhoon, and a taller, layback post from slowriderz was the trick. I also had to spread the rear a little too for a 26x2.35 tire on a freewheel...
