    Swap Meet in Long Beach

Bicycle stuff is mixed in the whole swap meet, but there is (I think) one row, both sides, that is almost exclusively bicycles. I guess you have to see it for yourself. Don't get me wrong, there are some deals there, but this is Southern California and some vendors think that equals dollar...

    Swap Meet in Long Beach

I agree with Chimi, most of the stuff is overpriced. I've bought a few bits and pieces there over the years, but not a whole lot. It's at Veteran's Stadium in Long Beach, Ca. http://www.toppingevents.com

The Saturday Morning Special-6/16 fork chop

Thanks. I still need to remove the brake bridge, and also need to put some caps on the fork legs that I cut. If you notice, the cut off pieces have a hole in the bottom that the bolt passes through. I plan on getting some push in metal plugs at Home Depot, and drilling a hole in them for the...

The Saturday Morning Special-6/16 fork chop

I have one of those adjustable forks too, a threadless one. I wanted to use it, but I'd need to buy a threadless stem, headset and probably handlebars. For the cost of the donor MTB ($15), I got forks, a headset, stem, seatpost, and kickstand that are all usable on my buildoff bike. I like your...

The Saturday Morning Special-6/16 fork chop

Ok, finally got some time to work on my bike. First up was chopping the fork to bring the front end down. These cheapy MTB forks come apart by removing the headset, popping off the plastic covers on the top of the legs, and using about 3 extensions, unbolting the lower legs from the top legs...

lowering the rear of a bike, for free with no welding.

Cool idea. I like the look of the brake pads because they have curves and look good on a cantilever frame. I would try an auto repair shop as a source for old brake pads.

    Women's Spaceliner

Just won this on Ebay for a decent price, and about 45 minutes from home. It wasn't listed as a Spaceliner, if it was, it would probably have gone for more. The bars look wrong, but it could be the camera angle. Tires are the original Sears. Might clean it up for the Mrs.,it would be a nice...

    IT'S OFFICIAL...I'M OLD TODAY.

Happy Birthday and welcome to the club! It's funny, I'm 41, and I have a cousin who is 35, and when we're together we still act the same as we did 20 years ago. Our responsibilities have obviously changed, but we're still both young at heart! I can't stop aging, but I can refuse to grow up!
