    CCM Ninja: Calling it Done!

I needed a longer seat post. I checked all of my parts bikes and bins to no avail...the diameter of the tube was 26mm, I couldn't find anything...then, I had a moment of clarity. A beautiful set of mtb handlebars was right on top of my main bin! The center measured at 1". I took my grinder...

    CCM Ninja: Calling it Done!

Update: I switched the seat for a much lighter Raleigh mtb seat I had from an old project. I also switched the pedals for some vintage road bike ones. I swear I shed almost 2lbs just from those swaps...that seat must've been filled with lead! I shortened the bars a bit and switched the grips...

    CCM Ninja: Calling it Done!

Thanks. They are such nice, clean frames...it looks perfect with the skinny tires too. I did have to stretch the rear stays and fork to fit these axles though.

To me, it made it look like the demon was reigned in (like a horse). It was mostly an aesthetic choice. I didn't plan on adding the tongue originally. Then the idea came to me, so that is where I attached the tongue as well. I still like it that way for some reason.

That is extremely flattering and greatly appreciated! Every time I tinker with it, I just fall in love with it all over again. But, I think I'm at a point now where I'm happy with it, and don't think any more should be done to it. I added a slim, chrome front fender to it.... I think it...

Thanks! It needed some more painting on the rear fender...so the Speed Demon got some horns and hair: I also painted up a headbadge. I don't have a pick of it with clearcoat yet, but here it is:

    CCM Ninja: Calling it Done!

So, I picked this CCM up a couple of years ago: I've had some fun with it, and it has existed in a few different forms, the most recent being: But, this frame is a nice, lightweight, clean design...I wanted to build a commuter styled bike, possibly a fixie. This was the best candidate among my...

Thanks for the tip. I think I will actually get my wife to hold the camera (phone). Lol I think I will leave the flame-throwing to Mondo Gecko! Lol

Had a lowrider springer fork from one of my Build Off 10 donors, so I thought I would see how it looked on this bad boy: Swapped a thinner front tire too. I was considering parting ways with this bike...but now, I'm not sure. It's like a whole new bike...the price would have to be good! LOL

    Hiawatha Seneca (almost there)

It's been awhile, but I got a rack off of a frame that I am using for the Build Off, a nicer seat and some army bags...had to put them to use. The rack is off of a Monarch...nice color match: Had to lose the taillight, but that will work nicely for my BO10 project. Here it is with the new...

I thought it might be fun to throw in some detail ideas as I go, but not really say how I plan to incorporate them until later. Here's a good one!

The rack from the monarch fits nicely on my Hiawatha! Not a bad color match either! #recycling

Finals are OVER...time to get to work! Sweet axle nuts...think I'll save these: This about sums up how this bike looked when I began this process: The victim was in rough shape...saw a name on the chain guard, it's a Monarch: Couldn't locate any next of kin...let the surgery begin...

Thanks! I thought it was really a cool idea when I saw you were doing it, so I thought I'd give it a try too. There's a lot more info that you can get across in a video than most people care to read about in a post.

The tires are 20"x3" Kenda flames...thinking about getting rid of them because I can't forsee needing them. I don't know about a studio tour... My wife plans to post one on her blog, then I'll share the link if you're interested. It was more to display my handiwork. I'm pretty pleased with it...

It's not really in the drawing. I had the concept before I even thought of using the cycovator...that was a "shower epiphany" as I like to call them. I start with a rough idea and then let it kind of progress organically. It's kind of a break from the engineering approach, and gets me back in...
