    Standard Cycle Product

Standard Cycle Products out of Toronto lasted from 1930 to 1961. They were acquired by CCM around WWII that's all I know about them.

    Old homemade Pennyfarthing basket case

Progress has been slow. I am working on the spokes. It has been a challenge to say the least. Here is what they look like so far. 7 down 65 to go and that's just this end they all still need to be cut to length and threaded.

    Firestone Stretch

Barnbikes I like seeing someone else's perspective on stretching out a frame. You are doing a fine job. I had to overcome the some of the same obstacles on my stretch cruiser. I'll be watching to see what you do next.

WHAT GOT YOU INTO THE BIKE HOBBY

Like most everyone else I started getting into bicycles when I was a kid. This was in the late 60's by the early 70's we couldn't mow the back yard any more it looked like a bicycle wrecking yard. Dad didn't like that very much. He always said if he wanted to find a wrench all he had to do was...

    The Trikes keep getting longer...

The old trial and error method. That's what most of us do although some won't admit it. I think you'll make it work.

    Crazy or Creative ?

When I was a kid if I didn't have a 20" tube I just folded over the excess of a bigger tube. I guess I wasn't the only one.

JGood That looks cool! If you don't mind I will tell you a little about axles like the setup you are thinking of doing. They are called tag axles and when you have a non powered axle in front of the powered axle it's called a pusher. Most of the time these pusher axles are lifted up to make a...

    Old homemade Pennyfarthing basket case

Well I couldn't wait till next weekend. I had Monday off so I worked on the hub. I found a 36 tooth sprocket and a short length of chain to use on my indexing jig. On a scrap piece of wood I laid the sprocket down near one end of the board. I then put the short length of chain on to the sprocket...

    Old homemade Pennyfarthing basket case

Today I scrounged around in the shop and found some scrap metal to start on my hub. I'm using a piece I cut off the bottom of an old two wheel dolly. I drew two five inch circles on it with a black marker. Using a bandsaw I cut out the two pieces. At this point I have two crudely cut circles...

    SPACELINER CONVERTIBLE (A Non-Invasive ... Reassignment)

Every thing I cut out on the machine is like a jigsaw puzzle and then each piece is hand carved and sanded to shape. I can only cut silhouettes on the machine. This shark jaw was only a simple line drawing all the teeth and cartilage had to be hand carved.

    SPACELINER CONVERTIBLE (A Non-Invasive ... Reassignment)

We use hot wires all the time from hand held to a 8' x 12' hot wire machine. The hot wire machine is what I use most of the day. Any wire frame drawing I can draw on CorelDraw the machine will cut. Sculpting and sanding on EPS is a challenge but you get use to it. We use mostly 1 pound density...

    Mig or tig or ?

I mig weld up all my bikes. I use a Hobart 180 with gas and .030 or .035 wire. I don't own a tig welder but if I did I would use it on my bikes.

    SPACELINER CONVERTIBLE (A Non-Invasive ... Reassignment)

That's cool I didn't no you were going to make a mold. We've made a number of molds off things we sculpted. We spray polyurea or polyurethane "hard coat" on most of the things we make. You should make several tanks while your at it then you could swap them out whenever you want.
