    The Mootree Collection

Although my bikes are posted here and there throughout this site, thought I'd post up my current collection here in the gallery forum. I would also like to say that this site has done horrible things to my bank account [emoji12] . Here we go: 1970 Schwinn Stingray Deluxe Mid 60's Western...

JC Higgins score. I need to stop.

Been cleaning and waxing on it to bring back the shine. I didn't realize how much of the white came of while doing so, it was really chalky. I freaked out at first but I think I actually like it better this way. It was gonna rub off when ridden anyway I suppose. Started cleaning on the...

    That's my favorite as well.

Took a few pics when I got it home, it's a solid bike. The seat is in great shape as well which is rare.

As promised, got it outside today and got some neat shots at my buddie's barn. Adjusted the fender too and secured the number on there. Gotta give photo credit and editing to my moms, she messes with photography as a retirement hobby. She's pretty good as far as I'm concerned.

I thought it was a bit later than what he said too but I'm no expert. The serial number is: 506-45020 1545109 Gonna do some more research tonight. My wife didn't kill me BTW, she just smiled after I explained how much I love her. She's a keeper. Sent from my 0PAJ5 using Tapatalk

Brought this home today, he said its a '49 but I haven't looked it up yet. Cool bike and the price was right. My wife is gonna kill me. This one may go up for sale, I can't keep them all. But then again, I love this damn thing.[emoji2]

I also realized after I posted the final shot in the original post that the rear fender somehow rotated backwards on me. In my excitement, I didn't notice that until the next day. So the rear fender will be moved down where it's touching the bottom of the frame. I need to drill a new hole in...

Thanks! The clear coat really brought out the color, I couldn't believe that was hiding beneath the rust. Here's a shot before the clear coat:

I'm typically a muscle bike guy but after screwing around on here for a while now, I've become infected with the sickness[emoji12] . I mentioned on Facebook a few weeks back that I was looking for a prewar bike for my next project and within a few days, a buddy contacted me about one he knew...

Today's finds, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

I'm guessing this could be the kids bike, maybe even a 16"?

Today's finds, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

This came off of the top prewar bike. Frame is rusted through and bent, fork as well. I had high hopes but unfortunately, it's beyond repair. I thought the third bike looked like possibly a 20", haven't seen it in person. Never seen one like it that I can remember.

Today's finds, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Found these today about a mile from my house. Brought home the Hawthorne but mother earth just about claimed it back. I got the headbadge off, hoping to get the seat and seat post, not too optimistic about the rest. Frame and fork are shot. Here's a Roadmaster, pretty cool but not sure what...

Prewar find but what is it?

I clear coated the original paint today, had to add the Hop Up waterslide decal I had laying around. Turned out cool I think. I have a fork, handlebars, stem and pedals coming. This will probably be last picture I'll post here. I'll start a build post in the gallery forum once it starts going...

Put on my big boy pants today...1969 Fastback 5-speed w/ Ramshorns

I cleaned on it a bit, pretty big difference in person, not so much in the pic.

Prewar find but what is it?

I can't believe how well the paint is coming back, going to have great patina when it's all said and done. I may just run the seat post to the machine shop in town and have them reverse one. I wouldn't think it would be too expensive.

Prewar find but what is it?

[emoji4] Not a chance, I'm just talking about the little seat clamp (that the seat actually bolts to-not the frame clamp) to allow for the thicker end of the seat post.
