Thanks. It actually wasn't hard, mostly just tedious and time consuming. Warm, soapy water and green Scotchbrite pads...working small areas at a time. The tricky part was knowing when to stop because at some point you start removing paint instead of rust.

Day Three: Painting Completed. Two coats of rattlecan gloss clear followed by two coats of matte clear. While the paint was drying I worked on the rear wheel. This was the hardest part of the project so far. The entire wheel was covered in a hard yellow coating which I can only assume...

Well, I drive past an old shop near town occasionally and have seen this poor girl slowly rusting away beside it. I stopped one day and took a couple of pics, which I posted here: http://www.ratrodbikes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=75358 to get opinions about it. Originally I thought about a...

Well, it came out easily enough and looked to be in pretty decent shape. So far my plan is to clean it up, grease it and use it.

How Far Gone is Too Far Gone?

Thanks for all the honest feedback guys. Given all the negatives I decided to....get it. I ended up getting it for free. Brought it to work and stripped it down. Came apart with no issues and am in the process of cleaning parts. Not sure what will become of it, right now it's feeling like a...

Bike Vacation - Hwy 30A in the Florida Panhandle

My wife and I vacation on 30-A a couple of times a year and we love it as well. Great biking destination with tons of great food and drink stops. I HIGHLY recommend Bruno's pizza in Seagrove. Best pizza you will ever eat. Yes, it's that good.

How Far Gone is Too Far Gone?

Hi Folks, This is my first post so I thought I'd dive right in with this. So... What do you think? I have access to this old Aristocrat. Interesting frame. Rusty but seems solid, although no way to be sure until blasting it. Anyone know anything about them? I've got a buddy that owes me...

Greetings from North Georgia! I'm a 20 year career firefighter who ricochets between hobbies...all of which seem to center around obsessively tinkering with moving objects. I've done some mild resorations of mopeds and minibikes but I'm starting to go back to my childhood days of ressurecting...
