Two bikes for $5, not too shabby

you guys think that springer could be put to use on a 26" bike? btw, any more info on these "Bratz" would be appreciated. I can't seem to find any info as to who made them or how old they are.

Dr. Tankenstein, one of my favorite bikes I've seen around here is your Cranbrook, I think it's dark brown or something like that with a tank plate and I believe it was called V3

i tried googling "Brats Bikes" and only came up with some motorcycle links. How old are they? I may or may not be using the seat. I wanted it to another bike I'm thinking about working on, but I may not use it. I'll let you know.

Both kids bikes, but still go some good parts there. The green-ish one is a Murray, an actual american one. Not sure about the other one.

yeah I think I had seen yours before. isn't yours a bicentennial bike? my idea kinda stems from captain america....but also was considering doing something with the circle of stars. either way, lookin' good.

Big props for the Captain Slow sticker. Before getting into bikes (recently) I was a huge car nut and have seen every episode of Top Gear probably a hundred times.

Strip down to metal or scuff and spray?

Got a Cranbrook here that I'm going from the factory metallic blue to a flat green. Do you guys think I should strip the paint down to the metal and start over or just scuff it up with some scotchbrite and shoot over the factory paint?

    2011 Rat Bike (motorized)

My first motorized bike. It was made from an old Kulana Riviera frame that I had laying around. Now my next projects. Two Huffy Cranbrooks. I've got an interesting idea for these. One will be an LSU bike, and the other....well you'll have to wait and see.

    Best parts sites?

Other than used stuff from ebay what are some good sites for hard to find bicycle parts? I've found a few sites, but most of the stuff they have is for racing or mountain bikes. Not much really cool stuff. Thanks.

How are you guys doing this?

I've seen many bikes on here like this. The seat looks like it is mounted straight to the frame, on my bikes I can't even get them that low even by setting it all of the way down on the pole (and removing the rear reflector). Are you guys cutting down the pipe and welding the seat in place...

    What is this called?

Was hoping I could find a printable template for a Huffy Cranbrook online, but I can't seem to. Oh well, if I make a template I'll pass it around myself.

    What is this called?

Is there a name for this part? I've seen it on many bikes and it looks really cool. I know that most people make their own, but I was just wondering if there was actually a name for it. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
