I would like to get a triple tree fork for my motor bike but they are all 1 inch threadless and my bike is threaded. I know 1 inch threadless headsets exist but I'm wondering if they are "plug and play" with an old head tube.
I would get a springer but my headtube is 7.5 inches long
I'm attempting to make a cafe racer style motorized bicycle. I thought 26 inch wheels would look weird so I tried 24s
Nope...
I tried to lower the rear with a bracket:
Better, but I'm not sure I'd trust it to hold at 25 mph.
Tomorrow I'm going to try 26 in back and 24 in front.
I'll keep...
So here's my delemma - I have this wald rat trap front rack. I want to make some truss rods for my forks because they look cool. I could chop up this rack but I feel bad sacrificeing a perfectly good useful rack.
Only thing wrong with it is that it's crusty.
Do I chop it?
Do I sell it and...
I don't really need to use the original fork. I have a MTB fork on it now. I just want to make the wheel base a little longer than it is with the modern fork. Or I may use both to make a homemade springer. This is an ongoing project that has been ongoing for a while.
I can never leave well...
when you say shim the fork do you mean just place maybe a small piece of aluminum or something? like a beer can? I can do that...but I'll have to drink beer first, what the heck, make it 12
or will a little jb weld work?
the original fork on my amflite cobra seems to have an issue. on of the channels for the axle is slightly deeper than the other so the wheel sits on there crooked. is it ok to try to grind to make them even? I don't know if this issue was a manufacturing screw up or just age.
i rebuilt one of these last year. it's made by tanaka. there is a guy on the internet who is the guru of these things, he helped me get mine up and going.

Anyone ever hear of hubs with the name of Swift or Penak? I got a 24 inch wheel with what could be a 3 speed hub but I'm not familiar with the brand.
Thanks folks
