    Hello straightbarjay here

Welcome aboard Jay! Campagnolo seatpost clamp, seriously? I know they made a handful of BMX components, did they made clamps to fit Schwinn's weird seat tube size?

    1981 Murray X24

Cool score! I found a similar Murray a few years ago in much worse condition. Mostly original, but spray painted and rusted out rims. A previous owner also sprayed the frame in silver for some reason, but when I stripped it off, the chrome was in perfect condition  The bars were still...

    almost mint schwinn varsity

I recently sold this one for $125 with no trouble, but yours will need some cleanup. I'm pretty sure yous is in better shape, and the accessories are certainly cool. I wouldn't try eBay unless your local market is really poor, it will cost a bunch of cash to ship that heavy beast!

Schwinn LeTour info? Cleaned up 6/24 :)

Re: Schwinn LeTour info? Looks like a good find for $100. I'm not an expert, but I had two World Sports pass through my garage in the last year, and I'm pretty sure they were from the same era (early 80s.) I believe the one you're considering is Taiwanese, and made by Giant. It's a good quality...

    good deal on a varsity?

Yes, I believe Giant made most of them. Great bikes. This Trek would be well worth scraping together some extra funds, but it was way down the list and probably was already sold...

    Fuji Mixtie

Nice score, it just needs a bit of adjustment:

    Present

Looks great! It's nice to have the V-brakes, my old Columbia has a rear coaster and a caliper up front. Stopping it is like playing the lottery.
  18. Bunbury

    good deal on a varsity?

Try getting your hands on this World Sport

    good deal on a varsity?

The weight difference will be worth the extra money in my opinion, you'll have a bike that you can ride for longer distances before getting fatigued. Also, I think the Varsity might be a bit small for you, I have the same one (same color and size 8) ) and it fits my 5' 7" body properly. For...

    Pete's (cyclejunk) scores

Wow, that's a great score! The men's bike looks like it's wearing a pair of upside-down Lauterwasser bars, those things are worth big bucks!!
