Couldn't wait till winter- 1939 DX build

Just couldn't take it anymore... was holding on to this frame to do an ultra traditional Klunker build, but seeing it sitting there on the wall for over a year while I gathered parts and got sidetracked to other projects just made me sad, so it was time for it to go under the torch. Before-...

    (ORBO) BMX/MTB/BOMBER/KLUNKER BO .....VOTING FINISHED!......

Lol, "The Plan" has changed 1000 times, reality has prolly been the one constant though- by the time I get my jig built my "build a practice frame or two over the summer and fall" will become "welp, winter is nigh, my virginal attempt is my entry frame" will prolly turn into screw it, I've got...

Yeah, just a cheap source of parts. Down to $120 for the frame/post/clamp. Gunna use the forks on another project. That's less than I paid for the powder.

Well, my bestie and I are having a little tiff, so our summer road trip might not happen. If it doesn't, I might just nab this Walmart wonder as a parts donor and build it up-

    (WBO) Thor's Twins '48 DX x2

Ug, well I suppose an update is due...sold the second DX to a guy who just had to have it, so so much for the Twin builds, and still waiting for my chrome, should be back any day. I get it done at such a discount through a family friend, I cant really complain if I'm on the "I'll get around to...

    (ORBO) BMX/MTB/BOMBER/KLUNKER BO .....VOTING FINISHED!......

Yummy. Been getting sexy care packages from Nova Cycles and Paragon Machine on my end... lots of 4130 goodness and welding lessons coming from Uncle Ronnie. He's excited enough he bought a new welding table... either that or he just didn't want to dig out the junk on top of his exist set-up table :)

    (WBO) Thor's Twins '48 DX x2

Turns out I ordered the wrong tube grips, so whatever. Picked up a headbadge and Stingray top tube decals (I just like the smaller script) and broke out the welder to extend the bars and grabbed some snakebellies off the wall... Plain Jane, but hits all the right notes. All these bikes...

Where to even begin. Sideways almost sort of starts to get there. Lots of progress this week, but lots more of the 'work on project D,E, and F to make progress on A and B' flavor as before. With the big auto swap drawing near, I'm really focusing on trying to get bikes out into the crowds of...

    (WBO) Bhuzzard

Sexy torch work... and more than a little jealous. Found myself in the need for that 1x24 die the other day but just couldn't justify the C-note yet :(

And finally found pedals. This has been a real issue for me as the Fly graphite dark reds I thought would be the best match were discontinued last year and no one seems to have any. Then lo an behold some Redlines pop up. And while everything else that has gone on this bike so far (and will for...

(WBO) Raspberry Ice- '41 Excelsior DX

Photobucket's being persnickety today, but I couldn't be happier with they way the chain came out. And of course, in typical "can't seem to keep focused on one project at a time" fashion I ordered a chain guard for my '40/41 DX back burner frame, only to discover (as mentioned in the other...

TLDR; I'm an Indian Giving D-Bag. So the the only real progress this weekend was organizational- got out in the garage and did some cleaning, sometimes that's the most important thing to cast into relief what you actually need to prioritize when you have just way to many projects all going on...

    (WBO) GIRL GONE BAD

+1 on the dog leg on the bottom bar. was worried about that but now I see the man had a plan. Very nice indeed... and in deed.

(WBO) Raspberry Ice- '41 Excelsior DX

lol. Well at least with the Grand National Roadster Show coming up this weekend dad's motivated... going to take a wheel in to get some paint matched this week and we dug up an old batter charger for some electrolytic rust removal action. $75 for a skiptooth chain? Shirley you must be mad!

In the middle everything else going on I grabbed some brakes... NOS DC Bulldogs and levers- why can I never stay focused on one build at a time? Might have to pick up some aluminium cased pads just for bling.

    (WBO) Thor's Twins '48 DX x2

I suppose I could just go skiptooth instead, as I have a couple rings, but good golly nice chains are expensive and Ichi's out of stock on his sprockets :( Anyone know what the normal link count would be for 26/11 so I don't cheat myself?

    (WBO) Thor's Twins '48 DX x2

Eyes are bleeding from the classifieds... need a chainring, 48+ standard pitch- something swoopy to look good under a feather chainguard. IMO the standard 46ish chainrings look like crap under a chainguard designed for something in the 50 range, and I've never liked the Phantom style. Trying to...

    (WBO) Thor's Twins '48 DX x2

Well, as it turns out they're huge. They make a 5.5mm version and a 7mm version and it seems dad ordered the 7mm one. The 4mm Shimano cables are going to look a bit lost, so we're going to flare some copper tubing and insert a little stint int them... eventually.
