1962 Schwinn Typhoon 20" Pig Bike

If you wish to follow the progress from this point, I have a thread in the Build Off #17 build journals called Hawg Wylde, My 1962 Schwinn Typhoon 20" bladeblah. Then I found an easier way for you to get there. Link here...

Hawg Wylde, my 1962 Schwinn Typhoon 20" Pig Bike Build Off #17 Class 1 Entry.

I found a thread on making brass headbadges. Like I needed another subproject for this build project. However, making my own is waaaay cheaper than paying the places I found so far that would do it for me. We will see. Oh yesss. We will see.

Hawg Wylde, my 1962 Schwinn Typhoon 20" Pig Bike Build Off #17 Class 1 Entry.

Gratuitous attempts at Hawgging all the fun. I appreciate all the free advertizing, but could you spell the name right next time? Its HAWG WYLDE! Hawg ring? Seriously though, I was cleaning up the shed for the next batch of kittens and I found my Black Diamond blasting sand. Now I can...

    Build Off 17 Highlight Thread

You could also warp a 1x4 sliced into a 3/8"x4" board (or two) to make fender(s) from and even another skateboard for a banana seat.

    Build Off 17 Highlight Thread

Not trying to toot my own horn here .🎺 I just wanted to show the results of my one handed death defying gratuitous grinder selfie. Except I didn't take the selfie then. I was too busy trying to find a way to get my rapidly dwindling blood back into my body so I didn't bleed out in front of my 9...

    Build Off 17 Highlight Thread

Yes, they are hubcaps or axle caps to be tekky. Popular on Post WW2 and available in chrome as well. I was thinking on a chrome set myself but I have already loaded the bike down monetarily so they went down the list some. Glad to see someone else finding and using them. Rob

1962 Schwinn Typhoon 20" Pig Bike

This build is officially transferred to the Build Off #17 Class 1 Build Journals as "Hawg Wylde" thank you to everyone who has commented or followed me this far. I have a whole stack of new ideas going forward, now that I will have competition and a deadline I will also have more incentive to...

    Freehub center hole/spline size questions

A properly adjusted coaster brake will not induce any more drag than a freewheel/caliper brake combination. Just like any mechanism, if cleaned properly, oiled/greased and you can be assured of the best stopping bike brakes you could want. Add a Sturmey Archer/Suntour or Shimano Coaster brake...

    Polo Bike Rescue

First car 1n 1978 was a 1965 Super Sport 327 4 speed. Had a red 1965 Super Sport 327 Powerglide in 1982. One of my favorite cars.

1952 Black Phantom or Whats Left

Found the front Heavy Duty wheel on The CABE for $30+ shipping. The Whizzer idea is becoming more of a possibility. Wish I were closer and could do it. I can send a link if interested, I think you can buy there as a guest. Rob

    Pedal Carriage

If you were going to make fenders from a plastic barrel it would have to be white. My blue barrel suggestion would not work out too well now man.

Hawg Wylde, my 1962 Schwinn Typhoon 20" Pig Bike Build Off #17 Class 1 Entry.

I bought a lens and bulb assembly from a Lightbox flashlight to replace my sealed beam bulb in my Delta Flashlight/Headlight project. I wanted a lens I could put an LED bulb on and this lens was 99% perfect. It wouldve been 100% but I had to file about .010 off of the circumference. (Something...

1952 Black Phantom or Whats Left

My dad said as kids they used a 20" rim for the belt pulley on the wheel when they made their own motorized bikes. A 26" S-2 front wheel shouldn't be that hard to find. I just got a old Hawthorne 2 bar that someone put one of the new engine kits on. I thought about finishing it as is because...

Man you have a good throwing arm! The wheels and bars landed right where they belong.

    Slamming the huffy

Why not cut one black one, and change it out for the one you made a kickstand out of? Much easier to match the rockers perfectly and the kickstand would only need the basic shape to look great still. I realize this is last winter, but no posts so I thought maybe it was on hold or you were busy...

1952 Black Phantom or Whats Left

Man that would make a cool Whizzer clone with the 120ga rear wheel. Most of whats missing would not be necessary for that anyway.

    Pedal Carriage

Cool idea man. I would be terrified at the possibility of a Ward Robe malfuntion! An Idea, quick and (not too) dirty. Find a white or blue plastic 55 gallon drum. Cut the ends off and cut them to fit between the frame and the wheels. Secure them well and you could also use them to mount your...

36H ACS rear hub NOS or minty

I will look this weekend for the other hub and let you know if I find it. I am pretty sure it is a 1974 hub as well so they would make a cool set if you are still interested in it. Rob
