    "For Ape Hangers Only" Club

APES, of course. They make everything better!

How to decide which ape hanger is right?

I saw a post somewhere where someone suggested using wire coat hangers for a mock up. Just don't tell Joan Crawford!

How to decide which ape hanger is right?

I think Falstaffs advice is as good as it gets. That's more or less what I did when putting apes on a 20 dollar cruiser. Other issues sidelined that bike for now and the apes are on a 70s huffy cruiser I picked up later. This is not a science, a few inches one way or the other probably won't...

    Too late. It's gone.

Thanks. That explains the double fork. I didn't find anything about the New Orleans Simplex building a bicycle.

    simplex cruiser

Thinking about it but have one project under way, another in the planning stage and my wife wants to know where I plan to put them. Still it does look pretty cool and probably won't take much to get it operational...

I'm wondering if this isn't a frankenbike and the fork is off a small motorcycle. But I don't really know anything about bikes, just starting to learn.

    simplex cruiser

Anybody got an idea what this is? I haven't found a picture of a simplex bike that looks like this and simplex manufacturing in New Orleans was a motorcycle company from what I find on google. https://sanantonio.craigslist.org/bik/5717571731.html

    Yeah, whatever man.

This thread had me laughing through lunch. But that is a serious looking bike.

    Mid-Western Flyer X-16

Classy, classic, just a great looking bike.

    Campground Cruiser

My dad had a compass like that mounted on the dashboard of his 56 Ford F150. The thermometer was a nice touch--but the barometer pushes from nice to flat out awesome.

Rockin' Rollfast - Finally a Video!

Can't go wrong combining old rock and roll with a one of a kind bike. Love the tire combination. Just a beautiful build.

    DRAGN (Finished)

My first bike was an AMF. I love what you are doing with this one. It makes my 7 year old self happy to see it. Gotta love a bike built by a company with "foundry" in its name. Good old American heavy metal!

    DRAGN (Finished)

Learned while messing with cars that if you don't get at least a busted knuckle now and again, you aren't trying hard enough!

    Bourbon & Blue - FINISHED -

The color combinations are exquisite. I really like the way the copper works with the blue. I can't imagine riding it. I'd just set it up in my living room and stare at it.

SaltHammer Savannah Sand Flats Silver King (1935 Monark Silver King) - Aug01 FINISHED! What A Blast!

That is not a ratrod. That is a work of three dimensional art. Take it from a former art major.

That is a work of art.

    Lurker no more!

Beautiful! Add a front brake, paint it purple, then put a bunch of stickers on it, and you have my first bike! Hope my restoration turns out half this nice. I think your warning to Paul should be generally issued to everyone drawn to this forum. This weekend my 5 year old and I start putting...
