Bike Work Stands! Homemade or store bought. What do you have? What have you built? Let's see your ideas.

When it rains, it pours! Apparently, my wife and #2 son do not coordinate much...but it's all good. If one is good, two is more betterer! Lovely wife gifted me this Bike Hand work stand today. I did my research, and this and the Park Tool were at the top of my list. Good materials, fit and...

New Guy with a (Don't Laugh) Walmart Bike

Welcome, my man. Your bike looks slick! Nuthin' wrong with Huffys and Walmart rigs. I have a pile of them, and have turned several of them into fun, simple, reliable machines which I donated to family and friends. They are still speaking to me and seem appreciative, so I guess all is good...

Freshening Up My Daughter's Vintage GT Outpost.

A buddy gave me this thing years ago. It had those gawd-awful bull bars, no grips or tape, thin, dry rotted gum wall road tires, destroyed pedals, and a worn out and gummed up drive train. I decided it was time to show my one and only daughter some love! New Kenda City Slick tires...

What In Tarnation Did I Just Bring Home? Some Kinda Rig I Wouldn't Understand Rescued From The Trash Man!

A set of Wellgo strap-on pedals for the Roo, ordered, paid for, and sent to my addy by #2 son. I ain't the kinda guy who straps on anything, but the bike's for him and these are what he wants. :wink1:

Are you a led foot? IE speed demon or a light weigh? IE conscious driver

A regulated, closed course is one thing. Public roads with minivans, soccer moms, and commercial traffic is quite another.

What In Tarnation Did I Just Bring Home? Some Kinda Rig I Wouldn't Understand Rescued From The Trash Man!

Yes he knows. He has taken an active interest in getting it back up and running by paying for the above crankset.

It has arrived! Beautiful, brand new condition. To say I am pleased would be an understatement! Awesome.

Are you a led foot? IE speed demon or a light weigh? IE conscious driver

I've been a professional commercial semi-truck driver for 25 years. I've seen a lot of carnage on the highway. If I make a mistake, people can die and/or very expensive things get broken. I don't take chances. I'm always in control. I don't let anything or anybody push me to where I am...

Epic handle bar brand name alone is worth the price of admission. FUBARS. I lol. :p

Bike Work Stands! Homemade or store bought. What do you have? What have you built? Let's see your ideas.

This is the kind of thinking I'm talking about! Not to mention the fact that I have met my next life's future wife. :inlove:

Yes. I saw that guy when doing a search. That's the kind of warped thinking I like to see. Wouldn't work in my situation, as my truck's bumper is so rusted out it would most likely fall off if I added weight to it.

Bike Work Stands! Homemade or store bought. What do you have? What have you built? Let's see your ideas.

I want a bike work stand. I want some degree of portability. Park Tools stuff is awesome, but man...are they proud of their gear! I think I can cobble together something cheaper and more sturdy. I'll start with this car engine stand inherited from dear old dad. I won't be rebuilding any...

Mucking about with the Pure Fix

Thanks. And yes, drops make my neck creak and pop like a wooden British frigate.

Mucking about with the Pure Fix

I'd like to claim that I was forward-thinking and visionary enough to put the skinnies on, but it came from the factory that way. I'm irrepressibly drab and awful in real life. Sad that. 😿

Mucking about with the Pure Fix

I agree. I just cannot take the road bike/racing stance anymore. The old bod complains too much! BTW...that is a handsome rig. When I was a kid, a Le Tour was the ultimate dream bike!! So exotic and fancy. Like a two-wheeled Ferrari. 🤤

Mucking about with the Pure Fix

Yes. I did it. The destructive kid (and his parents) a few doors down donated some parts. A couple of ragged out kid-sized department store BMX rigs. I scrounged the handlebars, amongst other things, then did the unthinkable. Spray bombed a disgusting neon green set into a gaudy gloss banner...
