The general fixed gear/SS conversion thread.

Those look REALLY good! I have about a half dozen old, ragged out 10-speed/MTB frames I'd like to do the same (single speed) treatment, but with the wide rear dropout spacing, I'm not quite sure how to go about it. (I'm new to this) I'd prefer coaster brakes on all of them for the economy...

Rescued Before The Scrap Man Got 'em!

Nice! A beer bike is way cooler than a poison/energy drink bike! I’m jelly!😃

Rescued Before The Scrap Man Got 'em!

Yes. It is a fine machine, and quite a workout for my 58 year-old self! I definitely feel it after cruising the neighborhood with it. It is a chick magnet, so beware. Would love to see a pic of your Peroni branded bike, please.

Wheels and tires ready to go. Chain guard and handle bars get the treatment, and underside of seat gets a good seeing to.

Another Junky Old Dept. Store Bike Rescued!

Y'all are prolly getting pretty tired of me posting my garbage, but I ain't finding much in the way of free classic Schwinns or other really cool old stuff like the rest of you are. So...you're gonna have to suffer through another post of my undesirable junk! This is a vintage 26" Huffy...

Rescued Before The Scrap Man Got 'em!

Whatever you feel like doing to it, my man! Part it out, or fix it up and give it away to a deserving person. Mine had a rotted out fork, and I found the frame to be of inferior weld/build quality even to the 1981 Sears Free Spirit I restored and gifted...so I scrapped the frame and fork and...

Suburban Assault Bicycle Starts To Take Shape!

Various browns, tans, greens splotched together in an orgiastic festival of spray painting mayhem! Mossy Oak Camo painting method similar to that used on AR15s and other such frightening devices! Boo! :wink1:

Annie the 1981 Sears Free Spirit 3-Speed

This morning, this bike was handed over to Annie, the new owner. With the bike, I sent along a note which reads as follows: Annie's mother sent the following text to me: Pay it forward. A little goes a long way. Spread some peace, love and joy. This world can use much more of this kinda...

Annie the 1981 Sears Free Spirit 3-Speed

Fairly well sorted (I think), with all her bits. It looks good and rides nice. It pleases me to look at it, and it makes me smile. I wanna keep her for maybe another week and give her daily test runs to make sure she doesn't crap the bed on her new owner when I hand her over. Lessons learnt...
