No. 3 build ready to kick off...

MAKING AN EXTENDED BOTTOM BRACKET AXLE... Needed to widen the left side of Build No. 3's b/b axle by 30mm to prevent the left side pedal from fouling the engine's crank case. Pics show how I achieved this. I purchased a pair of b/b axles and machined off a 30mm long section from one axle to use...

    24" Rear Fender wanted

Thanks, but a full fender to compliment the bike's vintage vibe is what I'm after. Appreciate your offer of help.

    24" Rear Fender wanted

Jim, Bike runs a 26" front wheel, so I already purchased a pair of 26" fenders just to get a front fender. Sadly, the 26" rear fender is too large a diameter. The 24" x fender I also purchased for the rear is the correct diameter but at 52mm wide it's just not wide enough to fit over the tyre. I...

No. 3 build ready to kick off...

WORK RESUMES ON BUILD No. 3.... Our impending move to Spain is held-up whilst awaiting for a Deputyship application which will allow my wife's sister to sign-off the house on her behalf. Wife Jen's dementia means she can't do it and the legal folks say there's a risk of too much self interest if...

    Flying Pigeon

Very tidy classic-looking build. Exhaust looks particularly nice.

    24" Rear Fender wanted

HELP! Desperately looking to buy a 24" rear fender for my motorized Build No. 3. pictured below. (Build thread on this forum). I'm located in the UK (soon to move to Spain in the next few weeks) and try as I might, I just can't locate a suitable rear fender to help finish off this build. Managed...

That vid showing the guy hand-striping Royal Enfield tanks tho...! That's skill! Wonder how many tanks he got through striping like that before he made it look that easy? Bet there's a scrap-heap-sized pile of wonkily-striped tanks somewhere just out of shot in the apprentice liner's...

LTJ's new project car build thread: (Changed my mind, doing another DATSUN!)

Glad to hear it's not just me who vets would-be buyers to make sure a car goes to someone who'll take care of it as much as I did.

Etching looks cool. TIP: I have extensive experience of photo-etching. (My day job for the last 30-odd years was producing my own range of photo-etched model train kits). FYI, the etchant fluid of choice in the industry is ferric chloride.

RRBBO13 13 Dayzz.. calling it done

Maybe try making the seat post and sissy bar parallel...? Other than that, quickie or not, this looks super.

Loving the retro John Player Special black-n-gold livery. Good call.

... Speaking of which, now you brought it up, was TRM's motorized 'Project Chris' ever resumed after its sojourn on the back burner...?

How can you vinyl wrap a frame?

Sheesh.... wondering if the original poster in this thread ever found any of the replies he got helpful - or even bothered to read any of 'em? Where'd he go...?

    Sly's B.T.R build (motorized)

Ha! No idea if that boost bottle does anything other than fill the space between the rear tyre and seat tube nicely.... I've only ever ridden this bike, my first ever build, with the boost bottle installed from the git go, so I've nothing to compare it to. Very happy with how this bike...

    Sly's B.T.R build (motorized)

Not being a pain, but that pic you show doesn't address the issue I raised. I didn't say the exhaust wouldn't fit. And your pic doesn't show the zero clearance twixt (love that word) plug and frame's straight bar. Take it from me, you won't get a motor with an after-market high compression head...

    Sly's B.T.R build (motorized)

Nice work so far - but I foresee a problem looming..... Here's a heads up....I already built a boardie using the same frame/tank/motor combo as you, and there was no way I could get the motor to fit into the frame with a high compression Fred head fitted. There just wasn't enough room to fit the...
