What have you been riding lately?

It wasn't quite daylight when I began this morning's adventure. It turned into a magnificent morning, and I never saw another person on the trail the whole time I was riding.

    Bikes in Autumn

Cool. I was trying to find a good spot for some bike poses on this morning's ride, but we are still in the early stages of our foliage change.

    Your happy place

Lovely morning for a ride or a stroll.

What have you been riding lately?

Ford Prefect was only half correct: Always carry a towel . . . and a set of velcro straps with D-rings. A hungry beaver has apparently taken a liking to the Sweet Birch (Betula lenta) trees along the upper side of a trail I frequently ride. Someone cleared the trail of one of the larger trees...

were do you drawl the line? how many bikes are 1 to many?

I have only 4, but would like to reduce that to 3. My 2017 Trek Verve gets ridden the least, although my wife has told me several times she thinks I'd regret it if I sold it.

What have you been riding lately?

At my age, I'd end up in a body cast if I tried riding a BMX or skate park.

what's it look like were you and your bikes live

With 3 operating bikes and a frame under construction, I would not pollute this thread with my meager stash.

What have you been riding lately?

Thanks. It's a Paul Budnitz design he called "Alpha". He had a bike business up in VT from 2010-2020 before the pandemic put him under. Mine's pretty basic; I got it as a frame only but when he was operating it was available basic to fully loaded with a Gates Carbon belt drive and Alphine 11.

marinate on this. then share with the members. the longest bicycle ride you did!

I've done 50 miles twice, both on the North Bend Rail Trail in north-central WV. First time was October 1, 2019. Temperature was very comfortable the first 25 miles, but there were several moderate hills on the way back, and I knew I was in trouble when my neck and back started hurting and the...

    How often do you ride?

Right now I'm not feeling really inspired to ride. I'm tired of doing circles in my neighborhood, and of having to drive my bike elsewhere to get in a decent ride. The return of hot weather doesn't help. I was going to go out in the morning, but I think I'm just going to hit the indoor bike...

What have you been riding lately?

LOL . . . West Virginia. This is usually a steamy, muggy time of year for us, but we're having a spell of unseasonably cool weather. TV guys say don't get used to it . . . Summer returns next week.

What have you been riding lately?

Small town ride along the river on a foggy, chilly morning. Very glad I chose to dig out a long sleeve pullover to go over my t-shirt.

    Bikes in Autumn

My favorite time of the year is at hand. I've done many long-ish rides along country trails in Autumn, including some day trips that had me driving 3.5+ hours into the mountains of WV just for a 7 or 8 mile ride around a cranberry bog, on the bike shown in this image. I no longer have this bike...

What have you been riding lately?

Back to the river with a different bike. Getting an early start in an attempt to mitigate the effects of the recent heat and humidity. It worked for the first hour.

    Foggy start to the morning.
