Used a 3/4” nut and bolt to compress the headset cups into the head tube.
Test fitting of the fork with the headset innards.

After 5 coats of primer, 4 of base colour, 6 coats of gloss clear coat then 7 of satin clear (not to mention about a roll and a half of painter’s tape), I finally have something to start assembling...

I see it’s local pickup from Modesto, CA though...
a little too far away for me and shipping cost would be more than the purchase price for me, lol

Doesn’t look a whole lot different, but after 2 coats of semi gloss black and a wet sand tomorrow, it’s ready for the decals.

Wait... what?!?!
Cut up a new carbon fiber frame?? *gasp*
*eye twitch*
It's all good and I can't wait to see how you rat it out and what you come up with.
GAW!
Now I can't decide which one I like better so I'd have to have both, lol
The roadie in me would lean toward Stella but the cruzer in me is drawn to Toaster.
Both are great builds!!
I knew I shouldn’t have used 2 different types and manufacturers of paint. Still plenty of time to fix. Worst case scenario is to paint it gold to match the head tube.

It took the brightness right out of it. Looked like a tarnished old furnace duct. Picture gloss coat over gray primer. I also discovered the painter’s tape I used to tape off the lugs did somewhat the same thing after I sprayed the frame colour. Looks like they will need a re-spray as well.
