Help from someone in the U.K.?

Thought I'd try this before I give up. There is a sprocket I want from an ebay seller in the U.K., but even though the auction says it ships to the US I haven't had luck getting them to do it. No real communication about options, when ebay said I had to pay up on the buy it now deal I had I...

Small update, was originally going to paint the cranks, but came across these chrome plated ones and thought I'd give them a shot. (I know all these pictures kind of look the same): I like the way they work with the chrome in front, especially since I'm not planning any other chrome in the...

    RRBBO13 THICK as a BRICK <Last peek!>

Wasn't planning on working on the bike tonight, but I got bored and decided to flip the stem upside-down to see if it made a big difference. In the process I tried a few other things. Most of them looked better in person than in pictures, but I think my original plan is still the best. Just...

Well, the rear wheel is done (for now)! Took some trial and error to get there, but I got it figured out. Here is a video if you want to see what it took: Here's where I'm at for the rest of this weekend probably. I don't think I'll get to anything else:

So, I'm getting ready to lace in the new copper rim in the rear to match the front, but I have an issue I need opinions on. The old wheel has 72 spoke holes (36 on each side) but only uses one side. The new rim only has 36 spoke holes, 18 per side. I knew this when I ordered it, and my intention...

Anyone found a source for Aerovane 26x3.0 tires?

I found an eBay supplier that is selling the Schwinn Aerovane tires by themselves. Long story short, they're going to cost you $40 each shipped. Easiest way to find them is to go to eBay and type in "serpentine tires" in the search box. Seller is wto_bike. In the auction you want to select...

Yes, you won't see a correct picture of the tire until you go into the auction and make a few selections. Otherwise it shows a different tire.

It's interesting how changing the photo angle changes the look of the size of the wheels and tires relative to each other. From the front they both look the same, from the rear there is a big difference. Overall I'm happy with the two together. I was worried about the front being too small and...

Got some big news for some of you! (TRM in particular...). Not going to spoil it with a picture just yet. I'll let someone watch the video and post about it here or somewhere else on the forums. It's something people have been looking for for a while. It comes up pretty quick in the vid...

I took it in to the LBS today and had them seat the crown race properly, so it fits a little better now. He said it should be ok. The higher bolt is right at the top of the fork tube now, so I'm not too concerned about it. Got the star nut installed too, so tightening the top cap down helps...

    What's in a NAME ?

Thick as a Brick: one of the things I really like about my bike is the color, which I believe they call "brick red". Plus, it's a fat bike, but no matter how many times I try, the forum won't let me call a bike " Phat .......". (See what I mean? It censors Austin Powers references. )

That's just it, right now there is no headset stack. Everything you see needs to be there.

Well, when stuff just bolts on things happen in a hurry! I have a little issue with the steerer tube on the fork being slightly too short. Not sure if it's going to be a critical issue or not, but the second bolt on the stem is right at the top of the steer tube, with no way to get it down any...
