    W I D E & Loaded - OUT, unfortunately ☹️

Well, in between “dumb things I gotta do” projects this weekend I managed to gnaw some holes in some metal, at least enough to throw some wheels on to mock up the stance for the rear. I’d actually like them to be a little closer together, but I like the way these wheels fit and I’m kind of at...

    W I D E & Loaded - OUT, unfortunately ☹️

MAIL CALL: Once I get into these things I start getting new ideas and hit eBay/Amazon. Stuff is starting to show up on my doorstep now. Finally got my last set of Chinesium bearings from overseas because I didn’t want to pay $3 extra to get them from the states. Hopefully I can get this...

It appears the rear wheel situation will be much less problematic...only have to drill 23 more holes in 1/4” steel and I’m done!

I’m sure there’s an owners manual somewhere that warns this is a bad idea: ...but hey, the axles are “masheened” and the new bearings are on: If I had taken a little more time and not boogered up one set of threads I would be done right now, because the other side works fine.

    W I D E & Loaded - OUT, unfortunately ☹️

Current situation: So I was working on the whole “front wheel/axle/bearing” situation and everything was going well until, well, it wasn’t. I was making good progress whittling the axles down so the bearings would fit, but then I decided to get my hokey-ass Harbor Freight lathe involved to...

Starting to take shape a little more. Figuring out how it’s all going to fit together.

Wheel #2 arrived today (well technically wheel #3, 2nd front wheel). Came with a tire, so that’s one less thing I have to look for. Wouldn’t want to use it on a sport bike, but I think it’ll be ok on a bike that doesn’t get over 2 miles per hour. 😂 I think I may have found bearings that will...

Return of the “Hey, that’s cool!” thread...

At 55 (soon to be 56) years old, my bones have much more appreciation for a step-thru than they used to...

Not much of an update, but enough to stay off page 2! Think I have the tool cabinets reconfigured to form 1 big unit. Probably could have just bolted the main parts down and been done with it, but I wanted it to look more “finished”, so that’s where I’m at.

    W I D E & Loaded - OUT, unfortunately ☹️

So I got to mess around with the two wheel rear conversion kit a little tonight and it got kinda stupid real quick. One of the mounting bolts was in a wrong hole and trapped by the brake assembly. The brake assembly is put together in a weird way using parts you wouldn’t expect. It makes more...

    W I D E & Loaded - OUT, unfortunately ☹️

So, first step I guess is set up a work surface to get these tool boxes out of my way so I can work on the bike: Had a little extra spare time so I started messing with the wheels a bit: I never had the wheels off before, so I got a chance to see how they are mounted and it doesn’t look...

    W I D E & Loaded - OUT, unfortunately ☹️

I actually do have a spare single-sided swingarm sitting around, but this build seems to already be heading to a half a ton already so that might be a little over the top without an actual motor. My plan right now is to try and use a trike REAR end in conjunction with the dual wheel front, so 4...

    Rookie builds by veteran builders

I think my first build-off was BO08, with New Age Hawthorne, but sadly I think all pictures are gone from the forum. My second one “Wheatpenny” was much more well received, but I think those pictures are gone too. This was back when I was hosting my own pictures from my own domain, which is now...

This is the place where you post links or pictures of cool stuff you see in other peoples builds. As always, the only rule is don’t post your own stuff!

    "Road to My Horizon"

I have one of those sitting around that I always wanted to do something with. If I’m not mistaken, mine has an internal 4 speed and 24” wheels. I think I was limited by the narrow frame and fork as well. I had planned to call it “college dropout”.

    W I D E & Loaded - OUT, unfortunately ☹️

Here’s some pictures of stuff to gander at: Not sure how much of this stuff will even work together yet, but here’s my parts pile. I kinda gathered this stuff assuming the build off was going to go to September again, so hopefully this won’t be a big DNF. I’m gonna build it anyway, so no big...

The next build off? Plans for the future

I’ve got some BIG (pun intended) plans for this years build-off. Been amassing parts for almost a year now. Hopefully it all works together, and just works...period.

    CyCLo KiLLeR

The build never stops, eh? It’s funny, I was going to do this in paint, but I figured it would ruin a really nice seat. Today I was in the Halloween store and found this removable “bloody hand print” so I figured I’d try it:

You need a bike with a pretty long head tube to pull it off. Even a small steering neck takes up a lot of space when you try to stick it between the frame tubes. It seems to work ok just riding on a couple bushings stacked together on each side, but would probably be better with actual bearings...
