Rat Rod Bikes Build Off #14?

They're similar to Worksman, but supposedly wider. Same vendor also sells Worksman rims.

    Locate some 24” rims

Rims, or complete wheels? I've been looking at these rims on eBay, about $100 shipped for the pair. Reputable seller but in Russia. Hard to find anything like this in the states at that price...

Rat Rod Bikes Build Off #14?

Anybody else starting to gather parts that they just can't wait to share? I'm pretty stoked about this rim set I just scored: You're probably thinking the same thing I was the first time I saw a picture of them..."What's the big deal? Just a set of steel rims?" "BIG" is the operative word...

Anyone else been going crazy at a Performance Bicycle liquidation sale?

Ripper $400, Flyer $250. SE parts all 70% off when I bought them. Tubes $1 each. In the heart of Ohio in winter Cruisers are a little slow-moving, even at 40-60% off.

Anyone else been going crazy at a Performance Bicycle liquidation sale?

I've spent so much money on stuff I really don't need there in the last month. I'm well over a grand by now. 5 bikes, 50 tubes, a big box of SE Racing parts, tires, the list goes on. I've bought an SE Big Ripper and Big Flyer, two cruiser bikes because they were cheap and cool, and a single...

    THICK as a BRICK

Keep in mind it started as a fat bike too, so everything is bigger on it, including perceived clearance. It's hard to judge in pics by itself, but compare it to other bikes in the pics. It's actually the size and feel of a motorcycle.

    THICK as a BRICK

Not really any issues at all. Ride video: I knew I would be able to bumble down the road on it, but much to my surprise it rides really well. I need to tighten a few things up on it, a few things aren't set in place because I still want to paint and finish them off some more, but after that...

    THICK as a BRICK

Here are some detail pictures of the bike: If I had more time I'd make all the KMC logos go the same way...stuff like that bothers me, but oh well. The lamp bases... The collector plates... The shower caddy... The sink strainers... The bungee holders... I was going to...

.....Aaaaannnddd, done! (Just like I said 3 months ago.) Here's the money shot: Here's the build thread: http://www.ratrodbikes.com/forum/index.php?threads/thick-as-a-brick-last-peek.106398/ Here is when we first met: Neat, but kinda bland. Here are a bunch of full pictures of the...

A few more details before the beauty shots are revealed. I think me and another 80-90 rat rodders will be spending the afternoon tomorrow doing a photo shoot of their bikes! Everyone wants to get that last detail in. Here's a few more things I got nailed down. Federal law says every bike...

Still mocking this up, will be straightened up when done. Hope I can make this look good by the deadline. Need to sleep on a few things but I think I have it sorted. The build-off bike may be held together by wire and duct tape, but it should cross the finish line!

The old nut bucket is a great thing to have, just make sure your tetanus shots are up to date. Mine usually has a few nails thrown in to keep digging through it interesting.

You should get a black chain and a white chain and alternate every other link. It really doesn't take as long as you would think to do, it takes longer...ask me how I know.

Really going to be taking this one down to the wire, but there's so many cool details I want to get in before the deadline. Here's a few progress shots: Put it together in your mind while I do it for real...

Welp, problem solved, I guess... After reading responses here I decided to put the original setup back on with spacers and everything. The shaft was pretty deep in the crank on the drive side, but I still could get the end bolt on. I tightened it up, and tightened, and tightened...then the...

Ugh! I love it when you're pressed for time and you end up having to deal with problems that shouldn't be problems! Tonight I was messing around with some crank and chain wheel things and just couldn't get things to fit right. Took everything off to investigate and I'm 98% sure my crank shaft...

Ok, one little sneak peek...not all of these parts are necessarily going together. I'm working on a couple different things. Busted out the trusty ol' Dremels and had at it with this lens that's seen better days: Little cutting and shaping on the inside and things fit better than I thought...

Not going to tip my hand JUST yet, but here's a pic of some doodads that followed me home the last couple days: Clearance rack shower caddy that was still a little pricy, but can always still end up as an actual shower caddy. Plus some miscellaneous plumbing supplies. Even the...
