The weather finally cleared up a little today, it's been raining and cold, not cold enough for snow, I like snow, 34 degree rain, just makes me want to lay in bed. So after a brief break from my shop, I finally busted out the angle grinder and the wire wheel, and got to work.I've got a few...

    Western Scraper

That stance, that stretch, that fork, this build is really evolving into something super cool. That said, that chain line makes the ol' coin purse tighten a bit, doesn't it, scary.;)

    Patina, Please!

Looking good. Can't wait to see it all cleaned up and back together.

Schwinn Hollywood gender bender - all but finished

Nice looking welds... and frame. You should be able to use any 24" fractional tire (24×1 3/8, 24×1 3/4) with that rim. The skinnier you go the tire will have a lower profile from the side but still be the width of the rim. Hope that helps and welcome aboard.

Today's stripping session went way better.Almost there. There's a little stubborn paint sticking around in some of the harder to reach spaces, but I'll go back with some stripper once the frame dries and that should take care of it. Then the wire wheel and it'll be ready to prime. We're supposed...

Exactly, and every now and then you find a treasure, like when I stripped the guard to find it chrome with good original graphics. But most the time it's just rust and dust and decades of layered house paint.;)

1947 Hawthorne "Mild One" (Pedals and stem done)

Pretty sure they're the same, I just have my seat raised up to road bike height and a 52 tooth chain ring. 21" from botton bracket to seat tube. All my other bikes are in the ballpark of 18". Reguardless, 47 Hawthorne's are great bikes, I've put over 2000 miles on mine.

Great bike. I used that exact same frame to build the bike I've ridden daily for the last 5 years. Yours has a lot more paint though.

After freezing all weekend today it was in the mid 80's, so I tore everything apart and got started stripping the paint. The first application went well, revealing three coats of paint, blue house paint, red house paint, and the original red paint, not to mention the original metalic primer.If...

I should be a taller frame and yes, Snyder built. My daily ride is a slightly later (horizontal drop outs) version of that frame. I hope you get it.

Thanks, low n' lean, gotta love those twin tube frames. I can't wait to see what you do with that Huffy, I tried to buy it from Kingfish but you already had a deal brewing so I lost out. I can't wait to see what you do with it.

There may be screws on the side of your fork for adjusting the height of the legs, most triple trees you can adjust and just cut off the excess. You may try playing with that, if your fork allows. Then you can figure out wheel/tire combos. My wife used a 24×2.125, rear with a 26×1.5 on her build...

Remember all those parts I put in the tub to degrease? A cold front blew in yesterday dropping temps into the teens and twenties, as my shop is not heated, my bearings, crank, etc. are frozen in a block of ice. Oh well, Mrs. Link and I just got back from CrossFit, got the sitter paid, got the...

FAR OUT FLYER (stick a fork in it she is done)

Great bones to start with. The frame, I think, is a Huffy though. Should be a cool build with the 24" rat trap w/the rockers flipped. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Fresh find from Down Under (Trike)

I think visible would be easier and could look pretty good if you used some counter sunk washers. Also, in the U.S. up until the late 60s truck beds were lined with oak boards. They had space between them to contract or expand with weather covered by metal strips. That could be an option..

J.B weld, in my experience works better than Bondo, you can put it on thick and it's easier to shape/more forgiving w/a file. I prefer lead fill, but most solder now days is lead free and forget about fishing weights, all lead free. Silver solder works the same but is a lot more expensive. If...

    Schwinn Exorciser w/ VIDEO update

Great bones! If you need another headlight setup similar to the one I did for Riverside Hoodride, let me know, I've got everything unpacked from my move and noticed I have some of those brackets and a cool old cop spotlight that's itchin' to be used if you're interested.
