My in-laws want to start riding again, at 73. :) Since they have some hills, and no experience with 5+ speeds, I went looking for 3 speed bikes for them. Picked up a men's Ross, a girl's Hiawatha for Gambles, and then, since they both had some issues, a Sears Free Spirit, all with 333 Shimano...

Never forget. While not always pleased with the direction of the nation, it is still the best one going, IMHO.

My '72 Deluxe Twinn. Slowly coming together, and we do ride it. Now has a guard and rear fender. Not correct, but a rear fender. :D

In our area, the Schwinn in that condition would easily bring $50, the Rollfast probably more the same, if the seller was patient.

She may be the Captain, but on that bike, the Stoker gets to steer, too. I think the Stoker just was able to ride back there, looking for a glimpse of ankle! :lol:

I posted in the Wanted area, and it was suggested that I could probably find most of this at the local hardware store. However, I am rotten at estimating sizes. So, if I could be pointed to the right sizes for the listed fasteners, that would be great... Thanks! I picked up a 26" '47...

Thanks! That is what I thought I was seeing at the CABE, but I'm new enough at the pre-60s, and totally inexperienced with the balloon tires, to need confirmation.

Well...Does anyone have a good idea what size tires/tubes I am going to need for this. I've never had a bike this old, closest is my 60 Columbia tandem.
