    peugoet sport

Do I spot a totally impractical but awesome looking checkerboard patterned front rim? Or is that just the camera adding a little funk?

    Hawthorne Duralium

Sneaky Hawthorne, hiding springs behind chainrings.

    Specialized Armadillo Tires

Just as no watch will be waterproof, no tire will be puncture proof. However, Armidillo and Marathon Plus are very puncture resistant. If you constantly do nasty things to your tubes and tires, they can greatly reduce the number of flats.

    Specialized Armadillo Tires

Goatheads are magically attracted to my tires. I picked up a pair and have ridden a few hundred miles without problems. I would have gone with Schwalble Marathon Plus, but they aren't made in 27". Both are heavy and have thick plastic between the tube and the road. If I remember correctly, the...

    Manufacturing Skip Tooth Chain

Diamond skiptooth chain for stupid high price: http://www.benscycle.net/index.php?main ... ts_id=7210 I remember seeing the DID listed on site that sells track components but can't seem to find it again. I remember it being equally as expensive. I'll keep reconditioning old chains unless...

Even if it's "just" a Philips the headbadge is sweet.

    Dayton(?) Tandem

That chain looks different because it is. It's a block chain. The middle links are solid blocks. One side is flat while the other is curved to fit into the sprocket's teeth. The roundity bits act as rollers and the outer more traditional 1" links keep them together. Block chains have been out of...

    Hawthorne Duralium

No springs eh? Do the seat stays flex?

    Dayton(?) Tandem

Any idea when this was bought? I smell block chain and early track pedals.

    Saving Old Cables

Just make sure they're still good and will hold up when you wail on them. A few days ago I was riding with a not so old (2 years) brake cable that snapped as I approached a stop light. Probably should have replaced it after last winter. If the cables are good, this could be a good trick. If...

    I want to see trikes.

I can't seem to find it, but there are some pics of a stylish trike with the two wheels up front floating around here. I want to say it was Firerwalker who built it. It was a build off. And it was named "picnic cruiser" or something like that.

    Nexus Axle Washers

Check out Sheldon Brown's website, and then Harris Cyclery (where he used to work) if you want to buy one. The simplest way of explaining what they do is explaining what happens when they aren't there: your Sunday cruise is interrupted by popping, clicking and grinding from the rear hub followed...

    Winter Anyone?

Colorado has been getting snow since Halloween or so. Sking since a bit before Thanksgiving. The difference is that this is about the coldest it gets here, O*F right now. I used to live in central NH on a 40something mile long lake. In the winter it wouldn't get above 0 for a week at a time...

    my "fast" bike

Looks great for a beater. I like the rack and light combo and simple two tone paint. Are those tires redwall from the factory or did you paint that on?

i wont to fill the frame in

What are you trying to do? Get some parts that will look cool? Make a tank? The gallery and the front page are great places for inspiration.

ummm I have a serious problem (updated 5-02)

Re: ummm I have a serious problem (updated 11-04) I volunteer at a bike co-op at my school, and everybody loves baskets. They hold all sorts of good stuff. Namely six of your favorite beverage. I've probably told you this before, but whatever school you live near has it made. You find (often...

    Are my prices to high?

I'm from the Springs as well (home of Fat Tire). Good luck. Nobody is buying anything other than food and gas. That said, Left Side Spin (Tejon and Boulder) or Bicycle Experience (1670? Sout Tejon, near the Blue Star) might be interested. Left side is a skate/cruiser bike shop, and Bicycle...

Messing around with CAD new pics 11/08/08

I second not using a Monark repo like that. Mine has busted....twice. The stationary fork legs levered themselves out of the crown. I could only see the crazy angle you've got, making it worse. On the plus side, it looks good.
