I agree, any side builds should go under the regular Builds forum. A link to the side build in your Build off thread would or should be OK, but I'd keep the photos out of the B/O unless your illustrating part of your Build off bike.

May21 update. Bought a set of pedals and checked for side clearance. Not a big deal on most builds I guess but on a Velo yea your pedals got to clear the sides and have room for your feet

May20th Up-date Today first attempt at making the templates for the body.

Today's up-date May 15th Did the other side rail and checked everything for clearance. Pedals are perfect but the axel will need some work to get a better turning radius

Today May14th up-date. Added the braces for the body and started the rails and inter fender well.

Today I'm making braces to add to the frame. They will later be used to hold the body work. I'm using a welding method I perfected when I was just a lad back in High School shop. It's been so successful that 90% of all welders use my method. It's Categorized by it's many weight saving voids...

The Silver Moon is a tandem--for me and my wife---but she's in the B-O--unless you count putting up with the mess I'm making! :lol:

I too did a multiple build--for a different reason. viewtopic.php?f=21&t=71649 My entry is Silver Moon. I did the Cresent Racer as practice for the tandem velo I entered.

I think your right,Luke.I may need to add an idler sprocket For todays up-date I finished the body.will need to get some edge trim to go over the sharp edges

You might try and find some shamino I think cogs--they have 6 splines but if you drimal off every other one to leave three they fit on the standard three spline hub you have ---they are thinner and you can get two on your hub with a spacer--this way tour old hub is now a six speed.

Up-date May11. Did a lot but not much to show for all the work done today. Added a shim to the steering wheel then I re-set the rear triangle. Spread the rearend for the wider hub, worked on the seat brace, added a derailer then started on the brakes.All I do to the Cresent Racer will pay-off...

Thanks Luke--I'll keep that in mind as the Silver Moon(AG-build-off) will have duel rear disk brakes
