Ok I recently built a bike that had a top speed between 40-60 mph and the wheels that I was using were aluminum with a shimano hub. Was it a good thing that I used those that hub? Would it be a good idea to do it again(my brother wrecked my bike so I have to build another one.)

Ok I got my bike running and my final.drive is this: 12 tooth clutch to 15 tooth sprocket on the jackshaft. On the right side of the jackshaft is 3 1/2 front pulley and a 22 inch rear sheave, the power plant is a 7 HP engine and a electric motor, I need a MPH figure I don't know how fast I'm going

Let me tell you a story, judging by the pictures, you see i have made huge progress. But those bearing housing, are the devil. After I installed them on the bike, i went on a quick gravity ride, and as i was going down the hill, the bearing housing bent and came apart(i had the belt connected.)...
