POISON APPLE: '79 Schwinn Fair Lady Trike

Often I have to talk through an idea or problem long enough to hear myself say what I needed to hear. Might seem like a nonsensical statement, buy in practicality it works for me.

    Vintage Schwinn Beach Cruiser

Kinda like the silver. It goes with the fork crown, and other shiny bits.

    I ordered a new bike!

I like the idea of a mini velo. I was pricing them last year and decided they were too expensive for me. Hope to find one in the trash, someday. Have fun on your new ride.

Show me your Vintage Huffy Cruisers!!

My 1974 Huffman "Easy Going" somewhat cruiser. My rear end can't handle too much weight, so hence the MTB bars. Sach's CB. Still experimenting with cockpit fit, but I feel it's about right for my 6'2" height. Got some kenda 838's on order. Found the tires on Amazon for $18 free shipping. Some...

    any shooters in the group??

Had a model 60 in the 70's, as a kid. Put over 10,000 rounds through it, probably closer to 50,000. It ran pretty good for a semi auto. You should like it.

Need your valued opinions with tire choice.....

Saw that review a couple weeks ago. Nice to have an "associate" who feels the same. My oldest are 5 years. No flats or other issues. Good review. Ride safe, my brother.

Need your valued opinions with tire choice.....

I am a function over form guy. I have Kenda 838's on ALL of my bikes. Can't recommend them enough. BTW... they are available in gumwall.

    Suspension seatpost ?

When I got this one it was frozen solid, would not move at all. Cleaned it up and now... smooth as butter. Put it on the wife's bike. She is 125 lbs. I can see it move when she is in front of me. She says she can't feel any difference, probably because it's working. Cheap junk, but it works for...

Shifter cable & brake cable ferrules questions

I am re-doing brake and shifter cables on my wife's 15 YO el-cheapo Pacific MTB. Not sure which is cheaper. me or the bike. Do I really need ferrules for them? Are metal shifter ferrules worth the cost, compared to the plastic ones? I have metal brake ferrules. I bought new stainless brake and...

Why are modern BMX freehubs so freakin loud?

I like to hear the freewheel clickin' when I'm coasting. Not crazy loud, but definitely clicking. Silent operation would have me concerned about positive engagement, super loud would have me thinking it is time for a rebuild / re-grease. Bearing grease on the loose ball bearings. Sticky oil on...

    Splinter removal

I was swimming in a local farm pond when I was a young teen. I stepped on something sharp and it stuck in the bottom of one of my middle toes. Hurt bad for a couple of weeks. About a month later, there was a tiny black hard speck sticking out the top of my toe. I dug at it for a while, then I...

What pic on google images first sucked you in to RRB?

Some random video on YouTube. Probably something from "RJ The Bike Guy" or "Bikeman 4 U". Both channels have been super helpful. RJ is a finess guy and Bikeman is a bruiser, both have their place. Can't recommend them both enough for the new bike maint. guy or girl.
