RE-TIRED STRIPPER - Formerly Spit Ply-er DONE (basically)

Nope, more subtle... the ply is in the same direction it will be in for the tank and pedals. I needed a spacer that would raise the light a little and point it in the proper angle. I wanted the mounting bracket to stay basically parallel with the tires so I made a cylinder then cut it at an...

RE-TIRED STRIPPER - Formerly Spit Ply-er DONE (basically)

Haha I was wondering if anyone would ask. There has been a little progress because it's programmed in the CNC software and ready to go but there are other projects in front of it that have to get done. I'm not going to throw a date out there because I don't want to jinx myself but I don't...

RE-TIRED STRIPPER - Formerly Spit Ply-er DONE (basically)

Well I've been chipping away at this thing and my confidence of finishing in time has grown quite a bit over the last week. I don't have a major update but I did start building the pedals and aside from those I found one additional location to add some stacked plywood. The pedals were always a...

Road Rash Completed… SOME pics here--->

You really got the shine back on the crank arms and pedals! What do you call that bit you used? It looks like some sort of paint removal bit, but I'd like to know what to search or ask for so I can get one as I have a crank in similar condition for my build and I'd love to get it to that...

RE-TIRED STRIPPER - Formerly Spit Ply-er DONE (basically)

So I wanted the look of an old school sealed beam spotlight, but I also didn't want to have any visible wiring anywhere on the bike so I needed a light that didn't require major battery power. I bought a flashlight that could run on AA's or D's so I knew I could get away with minimal space for...

RE-TIRED STRIPPER - Formerly Spit Ply-er DONE (basically)

Thanks, I feel like I need it. I was talked into making it two pieces when originally I was going to have a third piece in the center as a spacer. If it works it will be nicer now, but I'm nervous because now it requires each half of the tank to be flipped and milled on both sides. Hope it...

    DRAG KING ___Raceliner Dragster___

Seems like I'm going against the grain here but I like the white. Keep in mind I'm slightly colorblind but it remind me of this:

RE-TIRED STRIPPER - Formerly Spit Ply-er DONE (basically)

Well, it's been a while since I've posted. The last few weeks haven't been the most productive but I bought a lot of parts and pieces for the bike. Got a donor bike that had a set of handlebars I wanted, an NOS headbadge, leather handle grips, and a lot of items to help with the head light...

RE-TIRED STRIPPER - Formerly Spit Ply-er DONE (basically)

Unfortunately not, but I got the wood together this weekend and it shouldn't be long now (I know I've already said that!)

That's what confused me, there aren't any bolts to remove. The springs are just wound in and at the front the bracket is fastened with a rivet that I'd have to drill out. I think I found the ticket though. They hid a little folded tab with this sticker. I can't believe the sticker has held...

RE-TIRED STRIPPER - Formerly Spit Ply-er DONE (basically)

So I may have had an epiphany last night on the color combo for this bike. I've liked the way the worn blue looks but it just hasn't hit me as quite the right way to go. I'll probably be doing a few photoshop jobs tonight to see if this epiphany is all I'm hoping it to be. It will require a...

Hmmm, I've been trying to figure out how to mount it with no visible fasteners, but what you're showing there looks good too... counter sunk socket caps would probably look right at home there.

RE-TIRED STRIPPER - Formerly Spit Ply-er DONE (basically)

Well I've finalized the geometry of the tank. If there wasn't a deadline to this build off I'm sure I could think of another 100 ways to tweak this thing but enough is enough. Overall it's gotten quite a bit curvier than when I last posted images. It looked good before but I think it looks...

RE-TIRED STRIPPER - Formerly Spit Ply-er DONE (basically)

Thanks for all the compliments and opinions everyone! I should be picking up some wood this weekend and ready for a trial run hopefully the following weekend. I'm most likely going with the ply, but I'm going to consult the guys at this specialty wood craft shop before commiting to something...

    We want the Klunk

Wow, I really like the texture! I may "borrow" this idea as well but with a clear chip guard spray... this would allow me to pick a color I want but still have that rough appearance. I'm still debating repainting mine at all but this adds another "pro" to the repaint side of the argument!

Yeah the name would definitely seem pointless without using plywood! I love those old boats... sounds like a cool theme bike!

RE-TIRED STRIPPER - Formerly Spit Ply-er DONE (basically)

OK, well I've got too many projects going on at once so I'm trying to spend my time wisely. I think I'm still good with timing but I'm seeing a lot of bikes on here that seem like they're almost done! This is the first time I've followed the build-off so I don't know if a lot of people finish...

RE-TIRED STRIPPER - Formerly Spit Ply-er DONE (basically)

That's awesome that you still have the car. My Dad had a 68 Dart with a 340 that was my first car to drive, and I was a stupid kid and let him sell it instead of buying it myself... I'd love to have a "redo" on that one. Thats good to know with the fiberglass... I've seen The Renaissance...
