    Re: Cruiser that wants to be a chopper My .02 would be to shorten the triple fork until the 26" almost touches and add some truss rods. That or go with the raked forks. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it!

    50's Hawthorne? And a couple more....

    I'm guessing this was probably manufactured in the mid-to-late fifty's? Can anyone narrow it down? And what would this one be? This one's a July, 1952 Schwinn, needs a little TLC. I picked these up for $40 today. They should all be good projects or parts bikes. Thanks :wink:

    You might try to post to the wanted section here, someone may have a fender that would work, or could be made to work. I'd have a hard time cutting that fender, with the history of the bike I wouldn't do anything I couldn't reverse. You may also find that a newer bike fender could be modified...

    Nice work, I like the way everything goes together, all the parts, the paint and the stance all work to compliment each other and the front end looks great! BTW, I think we went to the same welding school!!! :lol:
