Whoa... that looks sharp!

This is the bike that saw me to the end of my BMX racing years. It is either an 86 or 87 Elf pro XL with matching forks, bars, and seat post, DK stem, A'me grips, dia-compe brake, kashimax seat, Haro 3 piece chromo crank, araya rims with hollow axle gt hubs, tioga comp 3's and the last number...

I thought you Americans would like the paint, they called it the stars and stripes paint job. Was 1997 some sort of bicycling anniversary or something like that? Anyone know? No Ricky, this is a single speed but I have heard rumors some of them had the nexus 7's.

I found this one on CL and HAD to have it. It's a 1997 Kona a'ha cruiser/ mountain bike. It weighs 25.5 pounds and just flies on the trails...had it out in the bush already, sorry Brent but I had to. The guy I bought it off of rode it for a few minutes then stored it for 10 years!

Thanks! It is a blast, especially since I only paid $45 for it originally then added maybe another $100 in parts, (that I paid for) that's less than taxes on those big buck MTB's. Keep in mind we pay 13% sales tax up here.

Wow, that is cool. I love the striping, the chain guard is unbelievable and the color is perfect. I was thinking of getting a leather jacket from a second hand store and do the seat and chain guard on my bike, but my bike won't have a chain guard. :lol: Beautiful work!

It's been out on the trails and has a SWEET new set of tires on it. The kenda's I had on it were just too big, it was like trying to pedal a tractor. I actually prefer riding this to my Intense so I stole the tires off of the Intense and it is MUCH better. I did get some gears for it,(thanks to...

I found some aluminum cruiser bars at a LBS and that started a make-over into something a little less stealthy. :mrgreen:

The front end is done! Yay! What a pain in the you know what getting old and new stuff to work together. :roll: But after grinding, smoothing, and some notching here it is. :mrgreen: Well except for grips. :lol:

That first pic in your more configs. looks very interesting. How aboot a fixie classic, it does have the dropouts you need. I'm thinking black frame granite everything else. An escaped convict has to be fast, or at least look fast. lol

I've gone to Maple Ridge cycle, asked about a seat post, the guy said he might have one in the back but it was too close to closing to check...it was 3:00 and the store closed at either 5:00 or 6:00. He wasn't alone, two other sales people and two mechanics, he just didn't want to bother. I...

UPDATE Sorry guys, not keeping the yellow...it was a 50 mph paint job and I have something else in mind. The wheels are done! Found some nice tires at a local LBS with a tread pattern that goes with my inspiration. Strippin' paint Wheels are done! Inspiration!

Nice bike! You could clunkerize it and take it out on the trails like I did to my old Columbia. I checked out your site and that Indigo 96 "hipster" is awesome!
