i got this from So-Cal a couple of weeks ago. I cleaned it up with mostly all the original parts except for the bars, stem and seat. It rides awesome.

That is awesome. May I ask what kind of bars those are?

A buddy found this in So-Cal a few weeks ago at a second hand store. He brought it to West Texas yesterday. It is already torn down and the rebuild has commenced:

Assembly time!! Keep in mind that a few things will change, but these are the parts I had on hand. I built the Mongoose style double clamp stem as well.

Paint came out really nice for a rattle can job. The secret is the old engine stand converted for painting bike frames.

Time for paint. I am going to leave a few hints of the original chrome along with a nice shade of Rustoleum blue. I scuffed the rest of the chrome and used self etching primet.

This one is getting paint, with some of the original chrome.

I am using an ancient Airco 250 amp Tig welder with a water cooled torch. The tubing is .058" x 1" OD. chrome moly:

Time to start fitting some tubing.

Time to cut it!! I am going to use the head tube, gussets, and the back of the frame. The upper and lower tube as well as the seat tube will be replaced:

I made a simple jig to locate the rear triangle and the head tube:

I am going to lengthen this Mongoose Motomag to 22" to get a little more room.

I got this from the original owner yesterday.

I found this one about 100 miles away two nights ago. Needless to say I quickly was in the car on a road trip.
