another "new" bike that I had never heard of

My son picked up for me a Ancheer 21 speed road bike yesterday. It is new, actually not yet fully assembled. Not rat rod material .

    recent finds

A couple of weeks ago I got a message that a cousin had bought or trade for a collection of 500-550 bicycles. I went to investigate. Turns out he got 714 bikes. No tank bikes, no wood rims, no Bowdens, dang it. Out of the 714 approximately 600 were little girls pink bikes with white...

    mine since 1967

I finally rubbed on the paint a little more and the spots will not come off. It would have to be painted to do a decent restoration. I don't think that will happen. It would take $70-80 in materials. I guess I'll finish cleaning it as best I can and hang it on the garage wall.

    Dyno Bike History?

I have a purple Dyno Glide Deluxe and I love it. It is fun to ride. I'll have to check and see if I can determine the mfg date.

    ride the outer banks

Anybody on here ever ride the whole length of the outer banks of NC? I love the area and would like to make the ride from one end to the other. I have driven it in a car, so I' familiar with the route. I wonder when would be the best time and should I ride North to South or South to North?

    Genesis Onyx regear

I put on a 21 tooth and it works great. The bike is now much more fun to ride. I can even climb some hills that were very difficult before. Only problem is- I added three links to the chain and there is not enough adjustment travel to tighten the chain as it should be. Moving the wheel/tire...

rode a little this past weekend

I got some bikes out of the garage this past weekend and dusted them off and aired up the tires. These are the ones I ride most often. They are a Genesis Onyx, a Dyna Glide Deluxe, a Greenline, and a Mongoose XR-250. I have quite a few more waiting for some attention .

    paint idea?

Actually, what I want to use is pages out of a Bible. Specifically the book of Psalms. I have an old Bible that has come "unbound" . I guess I will have to experiment with some materials on a scrap piece or two. What to paint the frame with first? White?

    paint idea?

Actually, I suppose my idea is a no-paint. I would like to cover a frame and fenders with the pages of a book, with fine print. I'm wondering what to use to stick the paper pages to the frame and what kind of clear to topcoat with? Anybody ever try something like this?

    Genesis Onyx regear

I'm looking forward to warm weather and riding more. One bike I plan to ride is my Genesis Onyx. The bike came with a 16 tooth rear sprocket. It needs a little more gear for slight hills. 18 and 21 tooth gears seem to be readily available. I'm thinking about trying the 21 first. Who has regeared...

    My first folding bike

I didn't have a folding bike in my collection so I picked up this one at a yardsale. It's a Unis, which I had never heard of. Made in Yugoslavia. I saw them called the Yugo of bicycles. It rides suprisingly well. I would like to find the missing rear fender. The front fender is aluminum. It...

    columbia twosome

I bought this Columbia Twosome tandem recently. It had a wrong front fender that I needed for another bike. It is the first complete, rideable tandem that I have bought. I have two Schwinns. One with wrong, non-tandem wheels and one is a bare frame. I would like to find the parts to put both of...

    worksman trike

I have a large black seat that I took off an exercise bike that I will put on the trike.

    worksman trike

The seat on mine is not the original one for the trike. It is a Ross, I think. Maybe partly because of the angle of view , but yours appears to have the front fender mounted like mine. The front is closer to the tire than the rear lower edge. What pedals are on yours? Mine don't match , and I...

    worksman trike

I thought that the front drum brake would be something I could use on a build , then learned that it "belongs" on the trike. If I find 3 20" rims I might replace the rusty ones on it now. We"ll see.

    worksman trike

I paid less than the sales tax would be on $700. When I first spotted it I thought that the brake drum had been put on from another bike. Then I realized that the tire and rim matched the rears, so maybe the drum was original to the bike/trike. I wish that I had the correct basket for the rear.

    worksman trike

I bought it cheap. The best way.

    worksman trike

I picked up this Worksman trike over the past weekend. The chrome rims and chain guard are probably too rusty to clean up.It probably will just be a rider and not a restoration project. One thing that has me puzzled is the brakes. The front drum brake has no cable attached to it. The caliper...

    Micargi "The General"

I'm thinking about buying a Micargi "The General". I like the cruisers in that style BUt hate the whole olive drab military look. I'm thinking if they are nice riding bikes it might be a good candidate for a repaint. Who rides one ? How are they? Thanks.
