Frame and all parts, except the fenders, are blasted. The chain was caked with the black, greasy soot that showed its age, and I'm sure is loved by most everyone on this site except for me :) I soaked the chain in a solvent for 2 days, and wire wheeled it to get most of the aged crud off...

Not overly familiar with this vintage of bike, but all the head badges I have seen for Schwinn have been ovals...When I got this thing out in the sun to fully inspect it and take some pics, I noticed the steps at the top of where the badge would have been. Anybody know what would explain...
