That's what I was thinking then I found a deal on the net that gave a timeline of the history of GT and it was showing they did not make mountain bikes till 1994 ? like you posted It looks like some photos of 1980's gt bikes to me.

Found this on my local 5 mile. Looks to be all OG but missing grips. Don't know the year but serial # GTK1533... I really like all chrome bikes even thou kind of a pain to keep looking nice.

Got this Nishiki Olympic bike as part of a trade... Have no idea of year, some crusty parts. At some point thinking about a fixed gear.

jarod24...Thanks for the info on the year! I know who painted it and he told me it was a lite blue, but he most likely would not know the difference of that being og paint so at some time I will take that paint a bondo off fenders a guard.

Has had repair work before in the middle of fork and still jacked up... Local shop Clyde James cycle's did one for Steve and did a great job so it's worth a try. Trying to keep it low$$ and on hand parts, union contract end soon so gotta save some money!!

OK.... Steer tube on the springer is not useable (girls fork). Going to take it and another fork to LBS and see if it can be saved. If not I guess I can change to a different bike? if so do I delete this thread and start over? Newbie on the build off :blush:

Got this cruiser 5 Sunday and the others last Thursday..... I like the cruiser5 but to bad it's not a 1980's. Still has the Schwinn/Giant tag on the dropout. Colson and the lady's bike got in a trade, not Shure what model and year the colson is but it will match up great with my pacemaker.

Last night I got the frame smoothed out a little and got it in prime. pretty busy all day being mom day and a benefit to go to.. dark out so could only scrounge a few parts to play with. Do some digging tomorrow.
