got this 1963 schwinn stingray and yes it is a real 1963 stingray. the forks were replaced in the mid to late 60s and i think the front rim was replaced as well. i can only find an nn on the rear rim but it does have a bendix hub. i know s-2 rims were on schwinn, i just don't know were to find...

it is an american flyer frame. best quality for the lower end brands.

it is rare. the rarest is a bright orange. i have only seen one in the 10 years i have been collecting dynos. i have seen a lot of those frames but they had 24 inch rear wheels and only seen them in black with that frame a 26 inch wheel with a 4 speed.

you can use these forks as well from felt. and just cause you have a 1 1/8 head tube does not mean that is the only fork you can use. i bought a set of these reducers for a 1 1/8 head tube to put on a standard 1 inch fork. worked great...

gt makes a 26 inch performer and intercepter. one ebay store had the performer for $350 with free shipping.

you can make our own patina. take painted bars and strip the paint off and heat the bars up but not enough the make them soft and spray the hot metal with salt water or lemon juice and you will get instant rust. then clear coat them with satin or flat clear coat so it does not rub off.

all the thieving tweekers ruined that place for me. i saw one of those tandems with a trike kit on it and it was one the coolest bikes i have ever seen. it had apes in the front and moon bars in the back.

i ran these for years. i think they were 19 to 23 inch tall. never had any problems with them and i'm on the short side. i put on a few hundred miles on these bars.
