Uncle Stretch, Thats what I did.I went to Ace Hardware found out the right size die and rethreaded it. I havent cut off the excess yet,I didnt look close but I imagine it is probably near the bottom of the spring.I still need to take it all apart and grease the bearings and hook up the three...

The Fat Franks fit on the brown bike which started off as a mt. bike,barely but they fit.On this road frame there is no way a wide tire would go in there. Plus I already had the three speed wheel I wanted to use and it was 1 3/8" :wink:

Thanks guys for the positive imput and comments The rear wheel is off of a girls three speed, 1 3/8" wheel, and the front is a old Styria brand,I think from Austria. Both have Schwalbe Delta Cruiser tan tires.

Progress has been made on this build, but it seems to have fought me all the way. :x I got the arched 2nd bar brazed on last week. I cleaned up the welds and places where the cable stays were. The paint went on great.It is just about the shade I had in mind, I wanted it to look like old...

That looks good. Did you paint the springs on that fork? They look really nice. If you did were you able to get inside the coils throughly? I just painted my frame and fork today and painting the springs would be a nice accent that would match the wheels. :wink:
