Look into having the chromed parts media blasted. I had a set of chromed bars blasted, they came out real nice. What brand is your "Modernized Klunker" frame?

I plan on sanding & painting aluminum crank arms. 1st question: Is it safe to clean the aluminum with Lacquer Thinner? 2nd question: What would be a good spray paint to use?

Re: Murray Monterey (Dirty Bomb) Sadly yeah! The rear wheel was jacked. The original Suntour CB & a Schwinn high flange hub are being laced up (4 cross) to a set of ARAYA 7X's. The gold on the forks were chipped & scratched.

All I can say is.....AWESOME!!

Nothing special, but for $10.00 I just couldn't pass it up. Gonna set it aside while I finish my current Murray project.

Re: Murray Monterey (Dirty Bomb) It's been a while. I just got the frame back from being sandblasted. Time to smooth it with some sanding, then primer it. I haven't decided on what color to paint it. I pulled the headset off of an old Diamond Back MTB & slapped it on. Looks kinda cool...
