Awesome looking frame!! :) I am having a problem finding a seatpost for my Murray cruiser. I have the old one & want to replace it, but it measures 20.1mm. I've checked just about every LBS with no luck. I was thinking about having some aluminum round stock machined down.

Re: Murray Monterey Swapped out the old OPC's with Maxy Cross 3 piece cranks. Cleaned & repacked the BB. Also scavenged a set of bars off a Huffy BMX. Not really feeling the RedLine stem. Picking up a set of Araya wheels this weekend. Gonna lace up the original Suntour coaster brake.

Re: Murray Monterey Picked up a set of Diamondback platform pedals that were on sale for $10.00 at one of the local shops. Plus, I've decided to weld the rear dropouts to strengthen them & some other weak points on the frame.

Re: Murray Monterey The build is slow going. Just been looking for parts. Pulled these off of a old Schwinn BMX that I scored for free on CL. They are a little rough, but with some TLC they'll come around.

Craigslist find: It appears to be a Schwinn BMX frame/fork that someone has put GT stickers on. I got it for the cranks.

Hawthorne Montgomery Wards 24" I have no use for it, so I may part it out. Keep a look out in the "for sale" section. Anyone know the year or a ballpark guess? I don't know if these are the original seat & bars. They were in the baskets when I picked it up.

It rides really nice! My neighbors got a kick from me riding it...I'm 6' 1" 285 lbs (beefy), I looked like a "circus bear" on it!

Womens Takara internal 3spd with coaster brake, free from CL. It's in reallt nice shape. Just need a cleaning.

I have several builds lined up after the Clunker/Cruiser. A Schwinn Varsity, Huffy 3 Speed, JC Pennys Bike, Roadmaster & Huffy Road Bike.

Here's a pick of the Cruiser before my buddy stripped it of it's part & sold it to me.

Thought about making it a SS, but I decided on making it a 6 speed. As for the all chrome MTB, it is a 1980's Diamond Back Ascent. The DB had been SS'd, but I recently changed it back into a geared bike. I also have a purple 1980's Diamond Back Topanga frame that I am going to build up.

I picked the levers & bars up for the lovely price of free!! The frame was $25.00. This is the begining of a Clunker/Cruiser project!
